CN's treatment of Ben 10

  • very true there really is no kid shows thanks for pointing that out.
    That would be genius if moa made the show bad on purpose but idk i dont think theyd do that.

    @Omni-Triforcer You never know. MOA witness CN nearly destroy Ben 10, their very own creation. If you were in MOA's shoes, would you trust CN in Ben 10 anymore or would you rather find some way to get Ben 10 out of CN's hands and find a different company that will give you more freedom and control of the series and thus allow you to make Ben 10 in the very way that you envisioned it as? Alien Force was strike one. Ultimate Alien was strike two. Omniverse was strike three. There's also CN's treatment of Teen Titans Go! and their approach towards trying to build a trend in comedy shows and there's also CN being more focused in profiting off of their toy lines. Heck, CN has been losing quite a lot of viewers because of what they did in recent years. I certainly don't trust CN with Ben 10 anymore and the same goes for many other fans and viewers. Why should Man of Action trust CN with Ben 10?

  • I agree I hope man of action leaves cartoonetwork also the reason I like studio madhouse they made a anime I like called hellsing

    @KorseBLI-ND if the reboot fails, I do hope MOA will leave and take the rights for both Ben 10 and Generator Rex. (would be awesome to see a real sequel to the crossover with better animation)

  • the its a kid show excuse is so dumb. Comics were for kids to and now look at them.

    @Omni-Triforcer I agree completely, animation is not just for kids.

  • if the reboot fails i really do hope that man of action takes ben 10 away from cn i dont want to see cartoon networks failure end the ben 10 franchise forever.

  • @Rexfan1333 That "it's a kids show" excuse is really just such a terrible and cheap way to shut people's opinions up really. At least it is to me. CN doesn't even understand what kids are really like. It's like CN just thinks that "oh, kids are kids and kids have a terrible attention span" or something of the likes. CN is making the Ben 10 reboot episodes 11 minutes long each because kids like shorter content and the same is for the Justice League Action show because it's to get children viewers right into the action. There's also just how absurdly bombed down Teen Titans Go! is just because of kid viewers. It's such obvious and absolute bullshit. Kids are kids and kids are learning what is good and bad and what is right and wrong. They are learning to understand things better and even then, there are many various examples of movies, tv shows, etc that have great and well in-depth stories, settings, characters, etc and kids just absolutely love those works because of the reasons that I listed. Examples include The Lego Movie, The Peanuts Movie, Up, Wall-E, Star Wars, the Avatar shows, the Ben 10 Original Series, the original Teen Titans and the list goes on and on. Heck, we are all living examples of what I'm describing here.

    I believe CN doesn't want a Japanese company/studio to work on Ben 10 is that well, it's Japan and Japan has a different culture from that of the US. My "Bwen" topic page and the cousin romance concept that I describe, fully acceptable and allowed in Japan. Studios in Japan are not that afraid to do some pretty ballsy concepts because, well, that's Japan for you. Just take a look at their anime. I bet that CN would find that unacceptable for kid viewers even though CN doesn't understand that it's really just cultural differences and thus they shouldn't even worry at all about it. Heck, I guarantee you that a Japanese studio would most likely implement the Bwen concept into Ben 10. At least this is my take on it but it's a reason why I like Japanese culture and works so much. Because Japan is Japan and they are more willing to get a lot more creative, most of the time, it leads to some really creative and unique works of literature and entertainment media that is just not seen much from other companies; especially in the US. Heck, Dragonball Z is a kid-friendly anime show and look how crazy and extreme that show is, even when CN tried to tone down all that extreme stuff for their US viewers.

    There's also the reason that CN is just being cheap and want to make their shows in the most cheap and lazy way possible and rely more on the profits that their toy lines would bring in. To them, it's all about money at this point and having a Japanese studio work on Ben 10 would probably be expensive to do. A part of me feels as if this reboot should fail just so Man of Action can get the Ben 10 series away from CN and find a better and much more suitable company to work on the series. A company that would give Ben 10 much more respect, passion, effort, and care than CN. That is if Man of Action can play their cards right.

    @Tactical-Ochoa gotta love Japan, they know what people want, to see Ben 10 get animated by those amazing studios would be amazing, I can see Bwen happen as well if they make it. It would be cool to see Toonami show it as well. (I'm so happy they brought it back)

  • if the reboot fails i really do hope that man of action takes ben 10 away from cn i dont want to see cartoon networks failure end the ben 10 franchise forever.

    @Omni-Triforcer Yeah, I feel Ben 10 has so much potential to be one of the most amazing shows out there if done right. (Anime always has the most beautiful stories and are not afraid to hold back on cool action scenes)

    @Rexfan1333 Heck, one of the reasons I want to work with PlatinumGames on my Ben 10 video game idea is because I feel that I want to work with a Japanese game studio. Because of the Japanese culture and its influence on their literature and entertainment media works, I feel that I would have the most creative freedom and capability working in a Japanese game production studio than a game studio in the US and anywhere else.

    @KorseBLI-ND loved Hellsing Ultimate.

    @Rexfan1333 Well, at the moment, I just have to learn to speak and understand Japanese in order to fulfill the minimum requirements to be able to apply at PlatinumGames. Trying to gather up some resources to help get me started. It'll take a while but it's definitely a goal that I really want to pull off and succeed in achieving here.

    @Tactical-Ochoa Good luck, I'm pretty sure you can get the language. You seem really dedicated and I like that.

    @Rexfan1333 Yeah. I just got to find the time in between my school and work schedule to put in the effort to learn the language.

    I'm 47 and still a big animation fan.

  • I know it not much of a idea, but Ben 10 makes a lot of money and can hire amazing Artist (nothing against the Derrick Wyatt, but his styles just didn't work for Ben 10 IMO, but I respect him as a artist), but CN seem is so cheap to do so, I have nothing against the reboot, but I wonder why CN never hire artist like Phil Bourassa or even the artist for Generator Rex to do Omniverse is beyond me or even a Japanese company like Madhouse Studios or Bones studios can make Ben 10 even more amazing. (the Japanese know how to market to kids and are amazing character designers IMO)

    @Rexfan1333
    While I'm generally not a big fan of Japanese animation I"d give it a chance....They can't do worse than CN has so far.

    @car54 Yeah, I'm pretty sure any company can make Ben 10 epic. CN just became super greedy and only want money, they don't care about animation anymore.

    @Rexfan1333 Agree.

  • Agree i feel just about anyone can do better then what cn has been doing. Heck i would be fine with disney taking on Ben 10 and going the gravity falls route (although i wouldnt prefer it). I would love to see a japanese company take on ben 10. It would also be cool to see ben 10 in dc comics since his comics were published under dc i believe.
    What companies do you guys think would best suit ben 10?

    @Omni-Triforcer I'm going with a Japanese anime network company/studio.

    A Disney style version of them would be interesting, but I really like the DC idea.
    There are a lot of Ben 10 pics on deviantart that are better than what CN has done since the end of the original series.

  • really! I have always said ben 10 has so much potential for great stories, great characters, and a great universe overall it just needs to get into the hands of someone who will actually care for it.

    @coreofthesun Venom is a better comparison to Kevin. I wouldn't be surprised either if the creation of Ben was inspired by Peter. Makes sense to me since that Man of Action were former Marvel writers before they formed Man of Action. That's one of the things that made Ben at his best. When he's being cocky and fun-loving yet also mature and serious. This is something that I think the Original Series did well with and the sequel shows and the reboot show often fell short on. Ben was either too serious and therefore boring and uninteresting to watch or too much of a goofball and therefore became annoying and unlikable. I felt that the Original Series had a good balance between the two sides of Ben. In fact, I say that the Original Series had a good balance of a lot of things. The characters, the tone, etc. I think it also helps that Ben had Gwen by his side. I think one of Omniverse's biggest mistakes was separating Ben and Gwen. Those two just work so well together. They balance each other out. They keep each other in check. They're like Batman and Robin, or on the topic of Spider Man, like Peter Parker and Mary Jane. I think Ben doesn't work well as a character without Gwen and vice versa. It's why I don't think Ben worked well as a character in Omniverse and it's why I don't think a Gwen spin-off show would work either.

    Thinking more about AmpFibian, there is a big issue with this alien that I recently realized. As I stated before, I am going to start implementing the realism factor to my list and my reason as to why. Therefore, I'm thinking of making a new page where I revise my list to factor in the realistic and believable aspect of Ben's aliens. In regards to AmpFibian, this alien has the ability to fly and float. The issue is that he looks like a jellyfish. There's no wings that he uses. There's no gliders. There's nothing that explains in a reasonable and sensible way what allows AmpFibian to fly and float in air as if he's in water. Therefore, it doesn't make AmpFibian a realistic and believable alien due to this ludicrous characteristic. If AmpFibian is fully aquatic and therefore ONLY has mobility in big enough bodies of water, then the problem is pretty much solved...except I already have Ripjaws in this list and even if Ripjaws needs water to breathe, he's still able to go out onto land while this fix for AmpFibian would greatly limit his mobility on land. I believe I stated this before as well, AmpFibian's electrical abilities would also likely cause some significant collateral damage if used in water. Hell, AmpFibian can even shock himself if he comes into contact with water. Therefore, AmpFibian is out and I'd rather keep Buzzshock in my list.

    @Omni-Triforcer And I don't think and feel that the next Ben 10 show will be any good and even if it does turn out to be good, I don't think it'll end up successful enough in merchandise sales for Cartoon Network to keep it on the air and it's most likely that it'll last one or two seasons and I back that very claim up with valid evidence that greatly helps back up that claim, even though we know little about the show. There is evidence that can back up your claim but you either aren't looking hard enough or you're not even bothering to look around. Again, I don't just want to know the "what" of your argument. I want to know the "why" as well. I am giving you a guide here that can help you out. I'm getting sick and tired of you giving all these claims yet giving very little to no explanation and information to back them up and a lot of what you do explain is sheer bullshit. What makes you think that regardless of how good my game is, it'll probably have the same amount of sales? What makes you think that PlatinumGames and I will even make this game just for kids especially when 26% of all gamers are under the age of 18? What about all the Ben 10 and PlatinumGames fans out there that this game would be marketed to the most? http://www.theesa.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ESA-Essential-Facts-2015.pdf What about the next Ben 10 show? Why do you think that the next Ben 10 show will turn out to be good? Yes you can back that claim up even though there is little information that we know about the show. Why should I stop being so negative even though I provided a valid and persuasive argument on the Ben 10 remake? I made an entire page for the purpose of backing up my argument. Make an argument that can convince me that the next Ben 10 show will be good and will stay on the air even with low toy sales. What I want from you is for you to convince me. If you just want to give out the "whats," if you just want to make claims and not back them up with evidence, then ok, that's fine but it's not going to do you much good, if not no good at all. It's not going to convince many and more often than not, there's going to be many individuals out there that's going to rip your claims apart and greatly discredit them because you don't back up your claim properly and thus give it any sort of defense from that. Overall, I'm just giving you some advice that can help you a lot in the future. Edit: My problem with you isn't the very claim that you made but it's that you don't back you claims up enough. That's why I'm giving you this very advice to help you out here.
