Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot Part 4: Show/Episode Discussions cont.
-
@tactical-ochoa Okay, i know @Ebomnitrix and @Ultimate-OmniTri want us to shut up right now. I'll keep my response brief. You should answer this question: What makes you think this show is getting negative reception from it's main audience? It was mostly for kids, and the shorter episodes were meant to fit with the recent cartoon status quo. Also, why do you think everyone shares your opinion? You're starting to sound like a sonic fan, because you just can't seem to accept anything new or different from the original. You act as though teen titans go isn't profitable or popular with the kids. Teen titans go was meant to be funny. This reboot follows that logic. You don't want to accept that this show wasn't meant for you in particular, or really our generation, so you constantly rant about how INFERIOR it is to the original. You can't let us enjoy anything, because you look at things incredibly negatively. I mean, really. We all get it. You don't like the reboot. Maybe if you don't look at it as a reboot, but rather its own thing, you might actually have a little fun. Seriously though, we get it. So please, stop trying to take our positive comments and prove why they are wrong. Please just let us say nice things about the reboot. Anyways, i'll shut up now, because this conversation leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Anyways, maybe this has been mentioned before, but i want to change the subject...
WHAT'S THIS?
-
@andrew42 Look around. Look up videos on YouTube and their comments section. Go onto social media. Go onto the Ben 10 Planet Wiki. Etc. You will find that most fans and viewers don't like the Ben 10 reboot and even some people have mentioned how they noticed that plenty of kids that fit with the intended audience don't like the Ben 10 reboot. There was a YouTuber that works in retail that noticed how little to no one bought any of the Ben 10 reboot toys at the store that he worked at and how shelves filled with toys from the older shows were emptied out by kids pretty quickly.
I don't think that everyone shares my opinions. Some people disagree with me and I'm completely fine with that. I also already stated before that on it's own, the Ben 10 reboot is decent at best and as I also stated before, I have mentioned certain things about the Ben 10 reboot that I thought were pretty good. I accept that this show isn't meant for me. Doesn't mean that I'm not going to give my thoughts on it anyways. I also do allow you guys to say nice things about the Ben 10 reboot. Plenty of times you guys talk about and praise the reboot, I don't respond. Why? Because I understand that you guys have your own opinions and I'm completely fine with that. What I'm not fine with is when you guys express bullshit and if that's what you're going to keep expressing, I'm going to call you out for it. Just because the show fits the status quo and is supposed to be more like TTG! doesn't mean that that's the right direction to go. I don't care if that's how things are because that doesn't always make it right. Christ, I don't even really care that much about TTG! itself anymore. I care more about what the show stands for and how it influenced Cartoon Network. So no, as long as you and others keep stating anything that is BS, I'm not going to stop. I'm also more than willing to state something positive if I find it to be good.
-
@tactical-ochoa Please, just stop. You're making this website super inhospitable...
Also, i never said it was the right way, just that it works. Do you ever hear little kids say: "Ben 10 should fight moar bad guys" or "Ben 10 is to childish now" or "this doesn't make sense." -
@andrew42 That's just a screen Shot from an old Ben10 Reboot Commercial from 8 months ago.
-
@ben-10-fan oh
-
@andrew42 Pretty much yeah. I did just state that some people mentioned that they noticed plenty of kids expressing their dislike towards the Ben 10 reboot. I've even seen comments on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and the Ben 10 Planet Wiki of kids expressing their dislike of the Ben 10 reboot. You'd be surprised as to what kids really know and are capable of. Never underestimate them. I believe last year, a liberal reporter complained about how firing an AR-15 almost gave him PTSD. There are videos on YouTube showing little 10-12 year old girls firing AR-15s and having a blast. The new game, Cuphead, had this really stupid fiasco where a game journalist with 20 years of experience struggled a lot with just getting pass the very easy tutorial level. I saw a clip of a 4-year-old actually, properly explaining how to get pass the same tutorial level. I once saw a freakin toddler working his mother's phone and being able to efficiently use YouTube Kids to look up videos. Kids can really surprise you. There are a lot of kids out there that are a lot smarter and capable than many think.
Also, try not responding to my comments if you don't want me to respond back. Just saying.
-
@tactical-ochoa Congrats. You said something remotely positive, even if it wasn't about ben 10.
-
Actually after Omni-Tricked the reception to the reboot has been more positive then it was initially which i am very happy to see.
-
@ultimate-omnitri True. The reception has become a little more positive. Most still see the overall first season as mediocre and bland but most fans and viewers do like Omni-Tricked. Even I said that it's arguably pretty good or at the very least decent. It's definitely the best episode in the first season. Granted though, if the second season doesn't deliver, we're going to be seeing that reception go back down. Still, Omni-Tricked did lighten things up some.
-
The first episode was pretty good and although ive only seen 4 minutes of episode 2 that seems like it will be a good one to.
-
@ultimate-omnitri Eh, there was a lot of pretty stupid stuff in the episode though such as the pilot (who has a pretty ugly design to her) pretty much being a dumbass. Much of the episode set up some pretty bland jokes. It also felt too easy for Gwen and Max to hack into freakin NASA...or whoever this government agency is. Most likely NASA. Things did get a little better once Ben battles Vilgax. Still really don't like how they implemented Vilgax though. Overall, it was an ok episode that felt more of the same as with the first season.
-
I kinda felt the same way towards the NASA situation, it felt too rushed.
I think Ben's aliens and the Vilgax fight and crash landing made the episode good for me, I say for a season premiere its average.
But it seems like the Catdobbit episode is gonna be better since it actually does feel natural pacing and its about something none of the older Ben 10s has gone over, which is having pets. -
Battle at Biggie Box:
Ben vs Billy Billions vs Simon Says @ who gets the newest Sumo Slammer toy.
Billy loses and Ben finally becomes friends with Simon in the episode. They also established Billy made the backpack and tries to buy him off but fails to.
Aliens: Cannonbolt, Wildvine Enhanced (w/ usual sequence)Bon Voyage:
I don't know what happens in the episode outside the description. But from my friend in the UK, he said the episode felt average, and Wildvine was only used to try to get Ben away from his sea-sickness.
Wildvine, Diamondhead, Heabtlast Enhanced (w/ All Wet sequence) -
@ebomnitrix Uh, Kai Green wanted to have Ben as a pet werewolf.
As for NASA, it would've probably have been better if Gwen successfully hacked the ship near the end of the episode.
-
@ebomnitrix Actually, Ben did have a pet (a dog) on "Goodbye and Good Riddance". But I'm also excited for the Cadobbit episode (I think the Cadobbit won't become Ben's permanent pet though, but I will be pleasant surprised if that happens)
-
@csgt Oh yeah, that's right. Ben's family already did have a pet dog in the original show.
-
Oh and don't make the hacking bit successful out of pure luck. It doesn't make Gwen's effort feel rewarding and satisfying. It made the writing feel a little lazy.
-
Actually i think that maybe Max had experience hacking stuff and just acted like it was an accident to hide his past. But thats just a theory.
-
@ultimate-omnitri I don't know. They never hinted to Max being a Plumber and Max had constantly been portrayed as a more goofy grandfather compared to how he was portrayed in the previous shows. It's more likely that Max just managed to breach the firewall by accident. I'm still sticking to my prediction that Max isn't a Plumber in the reboot show.
