  • I'll be honest, I feel like they're more taking old unused ideas, or unusually strange ideas, and sometimes saying "sure, why the hell not?" Not in a negative way, a neutral one.

@ungrateful-wolf I dunno man, everything seems to circle back to selling toys.

@offbeatcat Yeah they are definitely making decisions that will make it easier to market toys to kids. With that being said the quality of the figures for the reboot (made by Playmates toys) are much higher than the quality of the Bandai figures.

  • The "omni-ki" is the ultimate example of this mentality.

  • i mean, even having multiple aliens would be better then slapping armor on old ones.

  • @cooljay7 That's because Kevin's aliens are all based on band and music names.
Quad Smack = SMACK (finnish band)
    Bashmouth = Smash Mouth (band)
Black Ice = Black Eyed Peas (band)
Wreckingbolt = Wrecking Ball (song by Miley Cyrus)
    Hot Shot = Hotshot (band)

You'll notice Ben himself has two reboot original aliens with that theme naming too: Shock Rock (music genre) and Slapback (sound term).

For Black Ice, let's be honest, we all heard the complaint that Diamondhead's powers in the reboot looked too much like ice powers at least once. The writers acknowledged that and used it to name Diamondhead's copy.
Also, as mutated Kevin's aliens can be, I really don't feel Bashmouth is an Appoplexian. He looks more like a werewolf like Blitzwolfer than a tiger or any anthropomorphic feline. (I do believe he is Rath's rival tho)

And where's your proof that this is the case? Did Man of Action or someone from Cartoon Network confirm this?

@tactical-ochoa No, no official source. But when at least three Kevin aliens confirm it and when two of Ben's aliens also apply, it becomes a solid theory. Kinda surprised you're paying attention to something that trivial.

Unless you're talking about Bashmouth, in which case I was just giving an opinion when I said I believed he was Rath's rival

@ungrateful-wolf Diamond ice as black ice is a huge stretch. So are Quad smack and and smack. i just don't see it.

  • just a theory at this point, nothing crazy

  • Is it just me or does Omni-Kix sound like it's the same thing as Omni-Enhanced?

@tactical-ochoa i can't believe they're already running out of ideas

  • Hey how about a new Ben 10 Reboot episode when Grandpa Max Tennyson tells his grandkids how he spend his young days in college at State University.

@jondennison72 Even better, how about they make a completely new show and just sell the rights to the brand?

@offbeatcat I said this plenty of times before. I say that it could be better for the franchise as a whole if a good Japanese animation company takes over Ben 10.

@tactical-ochoa it's unlikely, honestly. With how the show's been going, i doubt people would even want to buy it.

@offbeatcat Well, that's part of the reason as to why I have an interest in making a Ben 10 game and why I want to see if I can convince PlatinumGames to make it. To try and respark interest in the Ben 10 franchise. To try and turn things around for the betterment of things.

@tactical-ochoa it's highly unliekly, but not impossible. don't bank on it.

@offbeatcat It's worth a try at least. After all, PlatinumGames isn't new to making licensed games. They made Legend of Korra, Transformers: Devastation, and TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan as well as Starfox Zero and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Plus, with their philosophy on gameplay, a game made by PlatinumGames where the main playable character can transform into various different forms could certainly be quite an interesting concept that would attract plenty of attention. Besides, the gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and the biggest entertainment industry in the world. It would be stupid for Cartoon Network to not take advantage of such potential.

@tactical-ochoa how old are you? i feel like your odds of success hinge on them deciding you're worth the trouble, and that unfortnately probably relies on age.

@Ben-10-Fan I still think they can turn it around and improve the reboot, I'm still not sure that the Gwen spin off is even being made, but I hope so. It might help the franchise.

So according to this link by MoviePilot.com that lists 10 facts about Ben 10, Joel Silver might not be involved with the Ben 10 live action movie anymore. What we already know is that in 2011, Joel Silver was called in to produce the Ben 10 movie under Warners Bros and Dark Castle Entertainment while in 2012 it was reported that Albert Torres was writing the script. This we already know. What I think we don't know was that Joel Silvers left Warners Bros in 2013 and now works at Universal Studios. Ryan Engle was also brought in to continue working on Torres' script, which I believe means that Torres is no longer working on the Ben 10 movie. MoviePilot states that the Ben 10 movie might be made by either Warners Bros or Universal Studios but I doubt that Universal Studios is going to be working on Ben 10 simply because Ben 10 is owned by Cartoon Network, who is owned by Time Warner and Turner Broadcasting, who also owns Warners Bros and Dark Castle Entertainment. Universal Studios is owned by Comcast and NBCUniversal and not Time Warner and Turner Broadcasting. Cartoon Network is not going to hand this movie to Universal Studios but instead they would hand it to Warners Bros because of this. Therefore, Joel Silver is not involved with the Ben 10 live action movie. Whether or not anyone here knows about this already, I'm posting this here anyways for those who don't know about this. http://moviepilot.com/posts/3900108 Joel Silvers leaves Warners Bros: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/warner-bros-joel-silver-317552 http://news.doddleme.com/news-room/warner-bros-joel-silver-part-ways-after-25-years/ http://flickdirect.com/news/3854/joel-silver-producer-of-the-matrix-leaves-warner-bros/article.ashx Ryan Engle working on the Ben 10 Movie: http://www.slashfilm.com/live-action-ben-10-adaptation-adds-black-list-screenwriter-ryan-engle/
