  • I have a feeling that the 6th series of Ben 10 will be a sequal to the reboot. That will be hero generations Charmcaster will replace ben.

I mean replace Kevin my mistake not Ben. I was typing too fast

@GoodVibes1999 I actually think Albedo was created to replace Kevin as "Evil Ben" after AF writers decided to make Kevin the hero of the show.

Is Kevin confirmed to appear in the reboot? I think he is kind of a "toxic" character to use now. Obviously, MOA originally intended him to be a villain (The OS episode "Ken 10" is proof that MOA never wanted to redeem Kevin), but now it would be hard to write him the way they want without getting backlash from a lot of AF/UA/OV fans, so maybe they will simple ignore him instead - Or not, since they are already getting backlash from fans anyway xD

[Por falar nisso, você sabe se já começou a passar aqui no Brasil?]

MOA confirmed that kevin was always supposed to be redeemed.

@Omni-Triforcer said in Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot Part 3: Show/Episode Discussions:

MOA confirmed that kevin was always supposed to be redeemed.

Actually, MoA said Kevin and Charmcaster were always supposed to be “anti-hero foils to Ben and Gwen”, that's very different from redemption. Take X-Men comics as an example, Magneto is an anti-hero foil to Charles Xavier. Magneto can even do good sometimes and join forces with the X-Men, but he always retains his shady personality and never becomes a "good guy". Based on all the evidence from OS, I'm sure MoA wouldn't do anything remotely alike to what AF did, making Kevin into Ben's BFF and Gwen's boyfriend, and retconing almost everything from his past (Max and Kevin's dad were partners and friends? Max didn't even know Kevin in OS.)

  • Speaking of Kevin and composite characters, if you read up about the reboot Frightwig on TvTropes, it explains that she's a composite character. Frightwig displays characteristics of being mischievous like Ben but in a more villainous way as well as TvTropes pulling out parallels with Frightwig's hair and Ben's Omnitrix. Basically, TvTropes compares Frightwig to Kevin, saying how she has similar personalities to Ben but darker much like Kevin did in the Original Series, thus acting as Ben's evil counterpart. I guess I kind of see that in her. So for anyone that thinks that Frightwig is more interesting, this is why. I guess the reboot Frightwig is the new Kevin here. Maybe. However, this created a big concern for me.

IF this really is how they're portraying Frightwig in the Ben 10 reboot, then what does that mean for Kevin? Is he going to make an appearance? If so, how is he going to be portrayed? What makes Kevin at his best is him being that very true evil counterpart to Ben and as I explained many times in the past, Kevin doesn't work well outside of that. To me, it feels like they dug themselves into a corner with these characters.

If they bring back Kevin and make him like he was in the Original Series, then the changes they made to Frightwig in the reboot are pretty much pointless. Instead of taking Frightwig and changing her, they could've just bring back Kevin instead. If they bring back Kevin and they change him to be different from his Original Series self, then that would undermine Kevin as a character and his purpose as a villain. If they decide not to bring Kevin back, then they lose one of the most significant and necessary villains in the franchise and the reboot will get hit hard for that. At least that's my take on it.

@Omni-Triforcer Duncan Rouleau confirmed that Kevin was supposed to be an anti-hero. Even then, if they stuck to the Ben 10,000 future shown in the Original Series, then that would mean that eventually Kevin would end up going back to his old ways and being a villain again.

@Tactical-Ochoa Very interesting. Speaking for myself, I didn't pick up on any similarities between Reboot Frightwig and Kevin. I think it might be just a coincidence, or maybe someone reading too much in between the lines. I liked Reboot Frightwig, and I don't think it would hurt her portrayal to have Kevin around as a villain too.

Dont forget they also retconned that last part in Omniverse

  • i honestly didn't have a problem with kevin and ben being best friends in UAF it kinda gave ben that older brother figure that he could look up to in certain situations like when cash and jt picked on ben i do think that gwen and kevins relationship was rushed though

  • I wonder when kisscartoon.me gonna show new Ben 10 Reboot episodes 31-36 including "Max To The Max" real soon?

@Spookyohno if I remember correctly they air today in the uk

  • @JrPhilgene The second clip that you posted is from the episode, Forgeti, which premiered at some special event in I think Texas to promote the US premiere of the Ben 10 reboot. I think it was something like SXSW 2017 or something of the likes. It's about Gwen finding this yeti in a forest while her and Ben are trying to rescue Max from Dr. Animo. I saw the episode a while ago on a YouTube channel, SPIDEREYE 10, but the channel's been terminated due to copyright claims. It's really just more of the same as every other episode.

@Omni-Triforcer I believe someone linked it on here a while back.

Edit: Yeah, if you search "forgeti" in the search bar on this website, you'll find the links to the episode. Again, the channel that those links take you to has been terminated so the links don't work anymore.

  • So Collider had an interview with Man of Action about the Ben 10 reboot. There's a lot of what Man of Action says here that really sets off my bullshit meter though. A lot of false things that they make mentions of. The rest is in regards to them providing more info about the future of the Ben 10 reboot. Apparently, Yuri Lowenthal might voice a character in the show according to Man of Action.

  • They also confirmed new aliens in Season 2, which further confirms a new season.

  • Yay, new aliens!

  • New aliens! That's great news!

So, Man of Action subtle confirmed my headcanon that each new series was in fact a reboot set in another timeline, and not a sequel (The show has always rebooted. (...) it’s rebooted almost every two or three years for its entire life (...) there have been other Ben 10 reboots). I think we can officialy say that "Goodbye and Good Riddance" is the true ending of OS, and AF/UA happened in other universe, and OV happened in a third universe.

@csgt Doesn't 'Goodbye and Good Riddance' take place in an alternate universe aswell?

Also, I could've sworn somewhere that they said Secret of the Omnitrix was the true final. 😛

  • There is something I'd like to point out.
They aren't reboots, they're sequels, this is the first ever Reboot of the franchise.
I think Man of Action is thinking this way because they don't fully like the idea of aging Ben too soon, while also losing their chance to create Alien Force before creative control was taken away.
So far the only thing I've really seen from future series in the Reboot was Billy Billions, Michael Morningstar whose now "Darkstar", and Water Hazard, along with using Big Chill's design onto the Prototype Stinkfly. But there's probably more things they did like that we'll see later on, at least I hope.

@csgt I do agree with you on Charmcaster's UAF design. Granted, as shown in the quote that you're using to respond to, that's not the point that I'm addressing here. I'm not stating that Charmcaster's UAF design looks unique overall. I'm stating that it looks better and more unique than Charmcaster's reboot design. Even though her UAF design isn't really unique on its own, is most certainly not a design that I like and favor, and doesn't even hold a candle to Charmcaster's OS design, it is a better and more visually unique design when compared to Charmcaster's reboot design, which, again, looks very much like a typical and generic Goth girl. Considering how they've handled the Ben 10 reboot so far, I doubt that they're going to make a connection between Hex and Charmcaster in the reboot. Her first name being Hope and the concept of Ledgerdomain itself are pretty much the only things related to Charmcaster in UAF that I liked. Ledgerdomain does have some nice potential and Hope sounds pretty ironic considering what Charmcaster went through with Hex before the events of the Original Series. Everything else with Charmcaster in UAF is stuff that I don't like. I most especially don't like how they handled her relationship with Hex in UAF though given that it very much conflicts with what was established with them in the OS. Granted, you do make a good point. Charmcaster, and Hex, were terribly handled and written in the sequel shows. However, when it came down to Charmcaster as a character, I really only compared the reboot Charmcaster to the OS Charmcaster because yeah, Charmcaster went through a pretty severe downgrade in the sequel shows and Charmcaster was at her best in the OS. I do have an interest in making an article about Charmcaster and analyzing her as a character, much like how I did with other characters such as Julie Yamamoto and Professor Paradox. I know for sure that this Charmcaster article is going to address the points about her in UAF that you made here.

After some thinking, I realized something that I forgot to mention. On its own and when compared to the Original Series episode, Last Laugh (considering that both episodes use the same story premise in regards to Ben dealing with his own fears), The Clocktopus is still not a good episode. It still suffers from poor writing and I mentioned other aspects of this episode that also holds it back. However, when compared to other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot show, it is a better episode. Despite the problems that I have with Steam Smythe, I still like the theme of his character and he is at least a better villain than the other villains that were showcased in the reboot. He's just an annoying villain much like with the Weatherheads and, at least to me, the writers just exaggerated a little too much to him or something of the likes. Like I said, there was some potential with this villain. Like I also said before, at least Ben's fear of squids does give him some struggle with fighting Steam Smythe and thus helps to make the conflict a little more challenging. So yeah, even though I find that the episode still had some really poor writing and the episode itself is still not good, it is better than the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot. However, considering the quality of the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot, that's not saying much. At best this episode is just average.
