@coreofthesun The Mr. Smoothy mascots thing was certainly the biggest killer of that finale. It's one of the biggest examples of the show being too comedic. That's a noteworthy moment that really should've been taken more seriously but the crew, for some reason, decided to play it off as a joke. It really ruined the moment.

Alien Swarm actually takes place between Season 2 and 3 of Alien Force canonically, with Heroes United takes place sometime between the Ultimate Alien episode "Ben 10,000 returns" (since we see XLR8 used in Heroes United because he was unlocked by Ben 10,000 for his younger self) and the start of the Diagon arc. @npzman I always wanted all of the Ben 10 music to be released somewhere. It would have been a dream come true.

@Mortie-10 Nice choices. The Alliance was a particularly thought provoking episode of the original, with a main character actually suffering a serious injury (Grandpa Max) and the part where Ben leaves because he believes he’s endangering Gwen and Max by staying near them is a really weighty emotional moment. The stuff with Vilgax throughout the episode was cool too and helped in the build up to the finale. We both seem to share our favourite Alien Force episode lol , though it is a great one. The Ultimate Sacrifice is an episode which really shows Ben’s selflessness despite his apparent arrogance - as soon as he truly learns of the sentient aliens’ plight he is wholeheartedly decided to sacrifice himself for them despite Gwen having the power to wipe them out and be done with it, and that goodbye scene with Gwen was pretty emotional. The functionality of the Ultimatrix and the Sentient Ultimates did throw me off a bit hence why I don’t rate it higher, but the themes of the story were solid. Malgax Attacks was decent especially since it was centred around a fusion between two awesome villains and it’s good to see Ben learn how to work with Skurd after seeing him as nothing more than a pest. . I was never fond of the idea of Skurd even though he’s actually an entertaining character so that’s probably why I find this episode ok rather than great. Alien X tinction felt a bit fanservice-y for me but it was still a cool finale to the reboot and to see all the Bens Together was pretty awesome. They nerfed Alien X but that was probably necessary.

I'm pretty sure they survived their planet's destruction. maybe they floated in space in balls until eventually landing anywhere.

@andrew42 Some of these theories are interesting but until the show itself establishes any of this, I just don't buy it at the moment. Also, even though I compare the Ben 10 reboot to the previous shows (mostly the original show), I would really rely on what was established in any of the previous shows to explain certain elements in the reboot...because this is a full continuity reboot. Everything that the previous shows established doesn't apply to this show. They could (and very much often have) use elements from the previous shows but this show is still separate from the previous shows. I also agree with @Oldtaku_dd. With the way that this show is structured as, I doubt that the Ben 10 reboot is going to get as deep as you guys try to discuss it as. Taking it as face value, Ben's DNA got deleted (or it glitch out or something) from the Omnitrix and somehow Vilgax was able to restore Ben's DNA. That's it. That's all I got to say about that very aspect of Omni-Tricked so far and I doubt that the show is going to go any deeper with that. If Ben's DNA really did get deleted from the Omnitrix, then it doesn't make sense as to how Vilgax restored it since that Ben's DNA wouldn't even be in the Omnitrix anymore...because it got deleted.

@XLR8 Wow. Been a long time since I commented about that. Almost a year. Man time flies by. I guess that would be correct. Granted, I'm veering more on Ben just being lucky with the Omnitrix. Ben fiddling with the Omnitrix was what led to him eventually unlocking the Master Control. In The Big Tick, Ben and Gwen were messing with the Omnitrix so that Ben could transform into XLR8 to go get some other food since that Max's strange taste was sparking up again. That led to Ben unlocking Cannonbolt. The same pretty much happened in Camp Fear as well when Ben was messing with the Omnitrix again trying to transform into an alien in order to escape captivity. He wasn't entirely in danger in that scene either. Both Ben and Max were just captured yet relatively in a..."safe" location but they did have to get out fast. Both times this happened, Ben activated the Omnitrix manually as well. The security measure in Ghostfreaked Out activated automatically. So thinking more about it now, I don't think Ben unlocking Cannonbolt and Wildvine was of the result of the security measure but really just Ben messing with the Omnitrix as usual and therefore getting lucky out of that. Much like, again, when Ben was lucky enough to activate the Master Control. It's not like Grey Matter was really the best option to fight Zs'Skayr with anyways and Ben knew that too, which was why he ran away. Often enough, when the Omnitrix mis-transformed Ben, it did transform him into the wrong alien for certain situations. Ben 4 Good Buddy being one obvious example when the Omnitrix transformed Ben into Ripjaws...in the desert. An obviously bad choice to use to fight the Road Crew. The Omnitrix didn't pick the best alien to combat Zs'Skayr. It just randomly picked a alien to protect Ben. It was up to Ben at that point to use what he got to gain the upper hand or to at least survive. The Omnitrix didn't pick the right alien for Ben to use for him. As the Original Series established, the Omnitrix just randomly transforms Ben into any of the aliens when it malfunctions and when the security measure activates. Whether or not Ben gets the alien that he wants, it up to him to decide how to best use those very aliens to gain the upper hand in combat.

I like hearing the backround between the Sludgepuppies and the plumbers. It's always nice to get a glimpse of the plumbers past
