  • I haven't been this excited watching a ben10 episode in a long time The last time was when Ben got the new omnitrix at the end of UA .this episode really did the reboot justice and I actually teared up a bit when i saw that ben was actually willing to sacrifice himself to save Gwen ,Max and Phil.I have a feeling that season 2 will be better than season 1 but it won't be as good as these last 4 episodes

  • It was also great seeing yuri return.

  • It was good...or at least average. Most definitely not amazing nor great. It's also significantly flawed. There are also plenty of things that you guys talked about that you got wrong with the finale. You guys are also getting really overly excited and hyped because of this finale. Omni-Tricked also had some resemblance of the Original Series but it was still very much in the style of the reboot. There's a lot more that I'm going to cover about Omni-Tricked so I'll be covering everything in a new topic page that I'm making. Other than that, yeah, it's good yet flawed and it's not something that everyone here should be so overly excited and hyped about.

And no, Yuri Lowenthal wasn't great as Vilgax. He really did more of a disservice to Vilgax.

That last part is opinion not fact. I thought Yuri did a great job as Vilgax

@Omni-Triforcer And I say that Yuri Lowenthal only further settles the point that this is the most mismatched voice cast in the Ben 10 franchise. Yuri didn't do great as Vilgax. He didn't make Vilgax sound intimidating and fearful. His Vilgax voice sounded quite distracting and out-of-place. Yuri Lowenthal as Vilgax is like Greg Cipes as Stinkfly, David Kaye as Max Tennyson, etc.

Also, you saying that Yuri did great as Vilgax is an opinion and not fact as well. You also asked what I thought of the season finale and I'm giving that to you. Be careful what you wish for. Then again, I am going to give my full thoughts on the season finale anyways.

  • @Jambamthankyou I don't think the reboot will ever feel like the Original Series and i don't think they are trying to do that.

@cooljay7 Yeah, they're obviously taking a different route in terms of story and lore.

  • I'm very interested to see how this upgraded omnitrix functions and see the new alien in action

Again thats ur opinion. I thought he did great. You have a tendency to make ur opinion seem like fact.

  • I'm sure getting yuri for vilgax was just a callback.

@Omni-Triforcer I have a tendency to make my opinions seem like fact? You guys seem to have a tendency to get all up in arms whenever I express an opinion that you don't like. You like Yuri's performance as Vilgax; I don't. Agree to disagree and leave it to that if you don't want to get into an argument with me.

  • Does Bens dependence on Gax remind anyone else of Feedback? Its also a coincidence that they were both removed from the Omnitrix. Also funnily enough they were both voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.

  • Yep and It became more clear when ben run off in angry.

  • Im just happy they didnt do what they did with the rest of the OS villians and have Ben had already met Vilgax. That wouldve been very disappointing. Im glad they let us experience their first encounter.

  • Really amazing episodes and is giving high hopes for season 2 and beyond, I'm hoping Tetrax will be Ben's mentor again like in OS, hate that they forgot about him in the sequels, so happy to see Ben get a challenge for once and realize that being a hero can be a serious task.

Proves MOA can really do cool dramatic episodes than funny episodes so I hope they will learn their lesson.

@Tactical-Ochoa I agree with some what, but the episodes was amazing, it had drama, action, and character development. Everything that OS kinda lacked at times (I'm hoping Ben will become more humble about his powers and learn from them), but I do understand that it did have it's flaws, but man it proved to be the best Ben 10 episode in a long time since and then there was Ben and was none.

I also liked Yuri's take, he's no Steve Blum, but he did pretty good.

  • When it comes down too it, the only (small) problem I had with this season finale was that they didn't do anything with Max's plumber background. Sure I bet they'll do something with it but there was more background in the arch rivalry between Ben and Vilgax when Max also had encounters with Vilgax during his plumber days. Vilgax and Max acted like they've never even seen each other before nor were there any hints giving Max's past life. But whatever that's just my personal take on the subject.

@Omni-Triforcer Dude shut up, this whole discussion is literally for discussing our opinions. He has just the amount of right as you to talk about this as proudly as he wants.

@cooljay7 I honestly don't mind him not having his Plumber background in the reboot, it's a shame though if they don't add it in, but it's still a possibility he's still playing dumb though.

@offbeatcat Well, yes, not a lot of people look at the bright side of the Ben 10 reboot because the flaws that it has overshadow the positives of it. That happens all the time with various movies, shows, video games, etc. If the negatives outweigh the positives, people focus more on criticizing and pointing out the negatives more than praising the positives. Ghostbusters (2016), Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Suicide Squad, Metal Gear Survive, the Powerpuff Girls reboot, etc. are all examples of it. It works the other way around as well. If the positives outweigh the negatives, people praise the positives more than they criticize and point out the negatives (well, that's unless they're far left SJWs because those folks always look for negatives in everything for political reasons). Nier Automata, Doom (2016), the original Teen Titans, Ed Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dunkirk, Batman: The Dark Knight, Logan, Deadpool 1 and 2, Forrest Gump, etc. There are some exceptions out there but overall, that's generally how most people are.

@Ebomnitrix You make some good points. Yeah, Ben 10 is more successful internationally (although, of course that would be the case since that you're comparing the United States to...well...the rest of the world so I don't find that to be a fair comparison) but that doesn't mean that we should get a show that is of mediocre, or at the very least lower, quality. Yes, they should try to take a different approach considering that it's a reboot but they also need to make sure that this show is an improvement over the previous shows as well. To me, there is no excuse for a show to be of lower quality and that includes the one that you gave. Even then, come on. We all know that Cartoon Network really had this show made just to sell more merchandise. This is Cartoon Network here being the Cartoon Network of today that so many are getting so sick and tired of. It wasn't made for the new generation of kids. It wasn't made for international viewers. That's really just bullshit. This show was really made to sell more merchandise. I also try not to look at things from a nostalgic perspective when discussing such topics like this as well. I make sure to look at things from a more...I guess "objective" is the right word...perspective. Or maybe "analytical" is a better word to use. Either way, I try not to look at things to nostalgically because I don't want to be biased. Even when compared to other recent Cartoon Network shows like Clarence, Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa, the Powerpuff Girls reboot, We Bare Bears, etc, the Ben 10 reboot doesn't have a lot of substance to it because it's just so similar to those other shows. Even when I don't compare it to the original Ben 10 show or even the sequel shows, I don't find the Ben 10 reboot to be a good show; especially when it comes to the writing and direction. If the Ben 10 reboot really was a good show, I would be more than happy to praise it. However, the Ben 10 reboot is not a good show. At best, it's average but this is a mediocre show that, like I said, was made just to sell more merchandise.
