Original Concept

  • So Joe Kelley has confirmed that ben 10 was once different then a show about aliens he says "We had an idea about a kid who could switch places with other versions of himself from parallel universes where the conditions on Earth led to strange evolution - water-breather, vampire, etc.
This was too complicated an idea to explain to a young child, and after much development, aliens came into play instead of parallel Bens - though Duncan drew a ton of Bens from other universes!" What do you guys think of this?

@Omni-Triforcer Yeah, glad we got the aliens concept instead.

  • Yeah but you have to wonder what it wouldve been like if we got a show like that.

@Omni-Triforcer Yeah, it's an interesting concept. Maybe it could've worked if done right. Still, I agree that it would just be too complicating for young child viewers.

  • Yeah but me not being a kid would be fine seeing it. It feels like something the comics would do but would be to hard for kids to understand.

@Omni-Triforcer Oh yeah. Probably better in comics.

@Tactical-Ochoa Actually, maybe some of this original concept was used for Omniverse. Honestly, though, while the whole alternate universes concept and the different Bens was pretty cool, I felt that Cartoon Network overdid it and made it too complicating or something and/or, to me, it just felt like that having a main focus on the different timelines just doesn't fit the Ben 10 series.

I guess Omniverse could be an example of proof that the original concept just likely wouldn't work for the Ben 10 series.

Wyatt isn’t exactly that reliable when it comes to lore and often contradicts himself. So yes, I would not believe everything that he says. I appreciate him for being one of the only people still willing to answer questions about the franchise but he can come off as a jerk sometimes. As for the topic...ngl I would absolutely love a new sequel to the original series to do it the justice it deserves in terms of continuity and tone. I wouldn’t mind an Omniverse sequel or Ken 10 so long as they are engaging shows, and an Omniverse sequel to give some kind of conclusion to the original timeline would be the most logical option I suppose

Why did I even say hyped at all When it's out I will watch it. If it ends up good then great I guess. It really gonna be my first time watching the reboot outside the first few episodes. If the execution of the original characters turns out to be terrible, well honestly I couldn't expect less from them.

I think I remember you talking about the DNA Aliens before but I'm not sure if my memory serves well. There has been lots of writers that hasn't really paid attention to the overall story of the season and what would happen before and later in the story arc. They most certainly didn't taken a look at the original series because if they have then I think Alien Force and onwards would been a very different show. None the less UAF still do hold a higher spot for me then the original series in my opinion. Yeah on top of all the people Micheal knowingly murdered then got sent to the null void with the plumber re-awarding Kevin and Gwen their plumbers badge back. Except Ben didn't got his badge back meaning he was able to stop the rooters a year later as a result. So at least that paid off. However around 2 months later Gwen made Cooper free Darkstar/Micheal out of the null void to seek his aid on stopping the highbreed invasion in return he'd be free. He ratted out and Kevin , Gwen and Ben. Just let it drift aside after all the humans he MURDERED and they didn't took it seriously. Micheal would later be formally arrested again when rook stop micheal from evading custody at Friedkin University. This can't go unnoticed they let Darkstar continue his activities. Also Remember in Ulimate Alien how Gwen wanted to save Kevin when he went insane after absorbing all that power from the omnitrix while begging Ben not to kill Kevin. Because Ben wanted to save many other lives that are under threat by "Ultimate Kevin". Irony here.

I honestly don't want another season of OS, they should just do reimagining of Ben 10 with him older as well as being darker
