  • @csgt Doesn't 'Goodbye and Good Riddance' take place in an alternate universe aswell?

Also, I could've sworn somewhere that they said Secret of the Omnitrix was the true final. 😛

@Spookyohno Goodbye and Good Riddance had to be set in an alternate universe because Alien Force contradicts it. In Goodbye Ben's identity is exposed and in AF his identity is secret again. Otherwise, there is no problem admiting that Goodbye is part of the OS timeline.

@Ebomnitrix I think you're right, but I actually agree with Man of Action. Starting from AF, not only a lot of things from OS were retconed but also the whole dynamics of the series was changed from "Ben, his grandfather and his cousin" to "Kevin, his gilfriend and his friend", so considering that Man of Action are the original creators of Ben 10, they have every right to say "What those other guys did, it's a reboot, it's not a sequel to our work" (but of course they said that in a more polite way)

  • There is something I'd like to point out.
They aren't reboots, they're sequels, this is the first ever Reboot of the franchise.
I think Man of Action is thinking this way because they don't fully like the idea of aging Ben too soon, while also losing their chance to create Alien Force before creative control was taken away.
So far the only thing I've really seen from future series in the Reboot was Billy Billions, Michael Morningstar whose now "Darkstar", and Water Hazard, along with using Big Chill's design onto the Prototype Stinkfly. But there's probably more things they did like that we'll see later on, at least I hope.

@Ebomnitrix Except Man of Action wanted to make Ben 10: Hero Generation, which was supposed to focus on a teenage Ben and Gwen. If that's the sequel to the original show that they wanted to make, then even they saw that it was a good moment to have the characters age and grow up, which really confuses me when they mentioned that they thought it was too soon to have the characters age. Even then, the original show was around for three years with the show's timeline taking up the entire summer and it was too soon to have the characters age? It was the perfect time to have the characters age and grow up. Granted, I say that the Ben 10 fanfics, Little Moments and Breaking Point, did a much better job of having the characters age and grow up than what Alien Force did.

@csgt Go back and watch Goodbye and Good Riddance. At the beginning of the episode after the intro theme song, the episode establishes that it's a "What if" episode and therefore not canon.

@Tactical-Ochoa I know, it begins with the "comic book intro", it's a possibility, not a certainty. But what I meant was, Goodbye doesn't contradict anything from OS, and I personally think it offers a nice ending to OS showing the end of the summer and Ben and Gwen still fighting crime together, so I see no harm in taking it as canon to the OS timeline.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I personally think they made Goodbye a "What If" episode only because they wasn't sure if CN was going to give them a fifth season. So, if they had another season, they could still keep the summer vacations going and ignore Goodbye, but if they didn't get another season (which was the case), they still had a great final episode wrapping up the summer vacations and the series as a whole.

@csgt Regardless, the episode establishes that it's not canon. It doesn't matter if it's a fitting ending. It doesn't matter if it doesn't conflict with the continuity of the Original Series. It's established as a what-if episode and therefore not canon. Even the episode, Gwen 10, points out that it's one possibility for which the story could've gone and yet it's established as a what-if episode and therefore not canon. If that's the case for that episode, it's the same case for Goodbye and Good Riddance as well.

So when are Episodes 31-38 supposed to be airing?

Yuri Lowenthal has apparently already recorded with everyone, so there's a good chance he might appear in Season 2, or Season 1 will be extended.

@Spookyohno My guess is that Yuri Lowenthal is voicing the "Mad Ben" we saw in one of the latest trailers.

@Ebomnitrix that whole one eye closed thing kinda reminds me of that one episode in omniverse with ghostfreak

I dont see him being a Mad Ben. Since Tara strong would most likely voice him.

@Ebomnitrix Hmm Episode 32 "Scared Silly" was actually a Scooby Doo Rip Off and the ending was pretty interesting, maybe the brothers were sent to the Null Void?
Can't wait to see @Tactical-Ochoa His episode Review on this episode.

I really liked Scared Silly once we got to the second half of the episode
Upgrade as a knight was amazing and I kinda got Paradox vibes once Wildvine was fighting against Karl with a K, along with the giant portal.

@Ben-10-Fan I'm actually going to focus on a part 1 review of season 1 instead of continuing making episode reviews. Part 2 will cover the finale of season 1 and the future of the Ben 10 reboot and the franchise as a whole.

Something I noticed in Forgeti, but the forgotten footage of Wildvine's transformation actually showcased something new.

Finally saw Scared Silly. Ben was really annoying. Also, in the episode Story, Bored, didn't Ben like going to that castle because he wanted to see how haunted it was? Why is he now afraid of a haunted house? In fact, why is he even afraid of anything in that episode anyways, considering everything he's been through? Nice, the episode is meant to be a reference to Scooby-Doo. Like the Ben 10 franchise hasn't done that already before in Omniverse. Overall, it's just another episode that just provides more of the same and doesn't add anything to the reboot show as a whole. It's just another filler episode like almost, if not every, other episode in the reboot.

@csgt I do agree with you on Charmcaster's UAF design. Granted, as shown in the quote that you're using to respond to, that's not the point that I'm addressing here. I'm not stating that Charmcaster's UAF design looks unique overall. I'm stating that it looks better and more unique than Charmcaster's reboot design. Even though her UAF design isn't really unique on its own, is most certainly not a design that I like and favor, and doesn't even hold a candle to Charmcaster's OS design, it is a better and more visually unique design when compared to Charmcaster's reboot design, which, again, looks very much like a typical and generic Goth girl. Considering how they've handled the Ben 10 reboot so far, I doubt that they're going to make a connection between Hex and Charmcaster in the reboot. Her first name being Hope and the concept of Ledgerdomain itself are pretty much the only things related to Charmcaster in UAF that I liked. Ledgerdomain does have some nice potential and Hope sounds pretty ironic considering what Charmcaster went through with Hex before the events of the Original Series. Everything else with Charmcaster in UAF is stuff that I don't like. I most especially don't like how they handled her relationship with Hex in UAF though given that it very much conflicts with what was established with them in the OS. Granted, you do make a good point. Charmcaster, and Hex, were terribly handled and written in the sequel shows. However, when it came down to Charmcaster as a character, I really only compared the reboot Charmcaster to the OS Charmcaster because yeah, Charmcaster went through a pretty severe downgrade in the sequel shows and Charmcaster was at her best in the OS. I do have an interest in making an article about Charmcaster and analyzing her as a character, much like how I did with other characters such as Julie Yamamoto and Professor Paradox. I know for sure that this Charmcaster article is going to address the points about her in UAF that you made here.

After some thinking, I realized something that I forgot to mention. On its own and when compared to the Original Series episode, Last Laugh (considering that both episodes use the same story premise in regards to Ben dealing with his own fears), The Clocktopus is still not a good episode. It still suffers from poor writing and I mentioned other aspects of this episode that also holds it back. However, when compared to other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot show, it is a better episode. Despite the problems that I have with Steam Smythe, I still like the theme of his character and he is at least a better villain than the other villains that were showcased in the reboot. He's just an annoying villain much like with the Weatherheads and, at least to me, the writers just exaggerated a little too much to him or something of the likes. Like I said, there was some potential with this villain. Like I also said before, at least Ben's fear of squids does give him some struggle with fighting Steam Smythe and thus helps to make the conflict a little more challenging. So yeah, even though I find that the episode still had some really poor writing and the episode itself is still not good, it is better than the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot. However, considering the quality of the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot, that's not saying much. At best this episode is just average.
