When did Ben 10 get bad?

    Many of us have different opinions on when Ben 10 started to get bad. In my opinion that started when Dwayne died. He was the best writer in Ben 10 history and make the best two sequels we could get. But before he died, he was making Omniverse. Omniverse wasn't planned as being as lighthearted as it turn out. According to what I have read on different websites, the first season should have 40 episodes about the Malware arc. It was supposes to be more mature than Omniverse ever was. It would also have explained why Ben took of the Omnitrix between the original series and Alien Force. But when Dwayne died, that was taken away and replaced by stupid Derrick J. Wyatt's Omniverse who destroyed Ben 10. Haven't Dwayne died, Ben 10 would still have been good and the reboot would never have existed. What are your opinions on this?

    @Mortie-10 Honestly, the series didn't get bad, it's just that the franchise as a whole hasn't got to it potential because no one knows what Ben 10 should be, a action superhero series. Ben 10 didn't get bad, but it suffers mistrearment from its creators and fans.

    Feedback, Bloxx, Shocksquatch, Gravattack, Khyber, Malware, Rook, Crashhopper, Kickin Hawk, Toepick, Arctiguana, and Eye Guy were already prior to before Dwayne's death. Enoch was the main thing they cut out of the series which surprised me, I don't know about anything else?
    But its not DJW fault, its more like CN's because they keep trying to make a light-hearted series and more closer to OS, by each series, and now that we got a Reboot, CN got what they wanted, because they were the ones who were crapping on Alien Force to make it more for children instead of older audiences. While I don't mind they want to make it for kids, but they need to make it for more bigger kids/teens rather than that young audience, especially since most kids don't watch TV anymore.
    I think it just hurt fans when Dwayne died that they wanted to give up on Ben 10, since the older audience thought he was in charge, they thought "Well... if the creator of Ben 10 is dead, then maybe we should just give up on Ben 10 and move on from there" that's literally what half the community did by the time this happened, and it was right when toy sells were stopping too, I feel Ben 10 died because they wanted to give up after that scenario, so until someone can properly revive the show and its fanbase, we will forever keep getting shows trying to be more and more like the original series, when it should be a little Alien Force, as it tries to be more mature with some scenarios. I don't mind if a show wants to be lighter, but it'll cause nothing but bigger issues if they don't find a balance.

    @Ebomnitrix Dwayne McDuffie didn't create Ben 10. The Man of Action team did, McDuffie had a very different vision for Ben 10 and retconned a lot of things for AF/UA that Man of Action had previously established in OS. I absolutely love Dwayne's work on Statick Shock and Justice League Unlimited (JLU is my favorite cartoon ever actually), but as other people here have said, I would have preferred a Ben 10 sequel by the hands of the original creators.

    My answer to the question: I think there is a reason why the OS is the most popular series, and that reason is because from AF onwards a big part of the audience lost interest (I'm not talking about the hardcore fans here, I'm talking about casual friends that I know that stopped watching Ben 10 after the OS). AF storylines were amazing, but the new aliens were not as interesting as the Original Series' ones (with a few exceptions), there were a lot of retcons, and especially, the writers were in love with Kevin and made him the main star of the show, stealing the spotlight from Ben sometimes, and it didn't work out.

Ben 10 OV, WAVE 2: Galactic Monsters: Now we rekeep Ben and Rook, but we also add in Scout, Rad Dudesman, and Hobble to the set of allies, we have Zs'Skayr, Dr. Viktor, Kuphulu, Lord Transyl and Crujo for villains. For aliens: Ghostfreak, Blitzwolfer, Snare-Oh, Frankenstrike, Whampire, Gutrot, Swampfire, Toepick, Astrodactyl and Atomix. With the playsets of both the Lovely Duckling and Zs'Skayr's castle. Ben 10 Reboot: Ben, Gwen, Max, with another Rustbucket playset, but also with newer features and a locational variant this time or moving backgrounds. We have Hex, Dr. Animo, a few of his mutants throughout the show, like the Animal Farm figures and the monster from Something I Ate, and then we'd have Steam Smythe, LaGrange (with vehicle), Kraab, Vilgax since they're so highly promoted atm, and the 10 aliens of the series. That's how I think it should be handled anyway, especially for playsets, popular iconic characters throughout the shows. Especially for things used for promotional use and other stuff. I say if they did stuff like this, it would be a success, there can't be Omnitrix stuff for Lego Dimensions, I mean if so then obviously create an Omnitrix for all 5 series with 10 selecting aliens. If that were the case OS: Original 10 AF: the AF 10 UA: Andromedas, Nanomech, Swampfire, Humungousaur, Big Chill and Spidermonkey. OV: The OV promotional 10, which was the 6 new aliens and the 4 popular aliens. Reboot: Reboot 10 Anybody else agree with this? Would be cool but that seems like it would be to much for lego dimensions. I think the more reasonable option would be for them to have a ben 1o set. Probably bellwood and have Ben either 10 or 16 and gwen and max and kevin and a couple aliens. Your idea seems like it could be more for a ben 10 toys to life game of its own. Man i would buy the heck out of that if CN did that

    same here just I am tired of going to stores and having brats get in my way and try to take a item I am buying for myself and than they scream to their parents they want the toy I am buying for myself

    @chronosapien234 Yes, true. The Circus Freaks were important with his plan. However, that's just because they're villainous henchmen characters. Even without Zombozo, the Circus Freaks still end up temporarily as the henchmen to another villain. You know, Ghostfreak. Pretty much almost every time we've seen the Circus Freaks, they are serving somebody. Mostly Zombozo. They're just villainous henchmen characters. They helped but they're not really all that important. In fact, I believe that there pretty much wouldn't be a difference at all if they aren't around. Why? Because, again, they're henchmen. They're also basic thugs, too. The Circus Freaks are not that important. Also, this is about Zombozo as a character and villain. What makes Zombozo who he is. Why he is like that. How he executes his plans. What makes Zombozo as Zombozo and he doesn't need the Circus Freaks for that. That is another out of the many problems with Omniverse and even the other sequels. The Original Series was able to do things that not many cartoon shows ever did. The Original Series did something new. The sequels were generic and typical cartoon shows. They barely did anything new if nothing new at all. That episode in Omniverse with Zombozo turning everyone in Bellwood into zombie clowns. If it was a nod to the Original Series, it failed at trying to delivery and do something unique and impressive. No instead, it ended up being another terrible episode due to Ben regaining his fear of clowns and one major plot hole that really ruined that episode, let alone the sheer cartoonish stupidity of it. Does nobody remember that Zombozo and the Circus Freaks are villains? Does nobody remember what they've done in the past? Oh, Ben regained his fear of clowns, huh? Thanks for making Ben conquering his fears in the Original Series pointless now, Cartoon Network. As for the plot hole, ask yourself this question? Those toy teeth that turn people into zombie clowns. Yeah, how is it that those teeth can bite through Plumber armor and hazmat suits let alone BASIC CLOTHING? They're plastic toy teeth. Is Plumber armor really that terrible and not that protective? I thought Stormtrooper armor was bad enough. Plumber armor is even worse. That one plot hole alone makes that entire episode freakin stupid and terrible. It shows how poor and lazy the writing, structuring, and designing of the sequels are. I know it's a cartoon show but again, it needs to make sense and needs to be understandable enough to work.
