Recently I came across this review of Waterfilter and The Ring Leader on Deviant-art. This person here points more aspects and problems of these episodes out that I didn't even notice or didn't pay enough attention to.

This person is right about the reboot. Cartoon Network claims that this reboot is meant for those that are new to Ben 10. That it's supposed to introduce Ben 10 to newcomers. However, the Ben 10 reboot wasn't designed, structured, and written with that in mind. It was made in a way that requires having prior knowledge of the previous shows and having seen them as well in order to be able to have an understanding of what's going on in the reboot. I said this before about the Ben 10 reboot, the PPG reboot, and for any reboot in general. If you're going to make a reboot that's intended for a new audience, make sure to take into consideration that newcomers for the series are new to the series and don't know a lot of what's going on. So far, we have no origins showing Ben getting the Omnitrix. The reboot doesn't even explain what the Omnitrix even is. It doesn't explain how the trio already know about Hex. It doesn't explain a lot of thing that need to be explained and established. Those that are new to the series are going in blind and are immediately being tossed right into a kettle pot. The PPG reboot made this very same mistake and it is one of the major reasons why that show is suffering with viewer ratings. Those that are new to the PPG series don't know what's going on in the reboot and therefore either they end up losing interest because they're so confused or end going back to watch the original PPG show and then realize how much better the original show is and thus lose interest in the reboot. Now the Ben 10 reboot is making this same mistake so guess what's going to happen as a result of making that mistake. Overall, in order to know what the show's about, newcomers have to watch the OS.
If anything, this reboot was made more for the older fans of the Ben 10 OS...except that this reboot wasn't made for them and even if it was, the Ben 10 reboot breaks so many rules, establishments, elements, etc of Ben 10 that older fans get ticked off and frustrated and thus lose interest. Because the Ben 10 reboot breaks so many rules already, it has become very much inconsistent and random with what it's doing. The Ben 10 reboot even breaks the rules on how things are supposed to work in general. The scene where the little Hydromanders grab Heatblast and drag him into the water. This reviewer is right. What should've really happened is that the Hydromanders should've recoiled in pain from coming into contact with living, breathing fire and molten rock. The announcers should've clearly seen that a 10-year-old kid going up against a much much bigger wrestler with robot arms is clearly not fair. Ben get's tossed out of the ring by Iron Kyle and therefore should be courted out. He and Iron Kyle were even out of the ring for over 10 seconds, which would too result in both contestants to be courted out and lose the match. Oh yeah, speaking of The Ring Leader, this reviewer really shuts down Max's stupid argument about video games and actual wrestling.
Going further into the show other than general rules, there's a lot of rules that the franchise had established that the reboot breaks. Gwen is one such example, being described as the more intelligent, wiser, more mature, and more responsible character than Ben yet often enough Gwen acts out of character. Not noticing that water and fire don't mix well, crying like a baby, caring more about filming a movie than stopping actual bank robbers, etc. Now thinking about it, does anyone even notice just how inconsistent the Omnitrix is. What did the franchise establish in regards to how long Ben remains in alien form? 10 to 15 minutes with another 10 to 15 minutes of the Omnitrix recharging before Ben can transform again? Now the previous shows aren't completely consistent with this but for the most part they do keep it mostly consistent across every show...except for the reboot. There are times in the reboot where Ben would remain in alien form for a good little while (at least 8 minutes, I believe). There are times where Ben would use multiple aliens before the Omnitrix times out and going into recharge mode and Ben would have to wait for a little while. Then there are times where Ben is only in an alien form for a minute or two before the Omnitrix times out and goes into recharge. In Freaky Gwen Ben, Ben only used Diamondhead for like a minute before the Omnitrix timed out and Gwen, in Ben's body, only used Four Arms for like a minute before the Omnitrix timed out and yet for most of The Ring Leader, Ben was as Four Arms before the Omnitrix finally timed out.
Taking what this reviewer had said about the Ben 10 reboot, I've changed my mind. I said that Waterfilter was average with it being argued that it could be at least a little above average. Well, never mind because Waterfilter is a pretty crappy and terribly made episode along with the other episodes. Or at the very least, they're mediocre episodes.
Edit: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. In regards to The Ring Leader, how the hell is a video game making the Rustbucket rock back and forth so excessively?
