@omni-triforcer I just looked back at the convo and I had come in late, someone posted Ruben's poster but I was talking about Will's
It's like a sitcom level of miscommunication, it's good man

@omni-triforcer The comic con poster for this year was done by Will Patrick, the poster you just linked to isn't even remotely close to Will, that's Ruben Procopio.
I'm in like three Discord chat's with you where I'be explained it's Will.
So so so so happy about this!!!!
@Ebomnitrix I would say the most accurate and consistent looking ones are the Calendar one, the Dutch promo, and the model sheet one from the conference.
The very first one definitely is off model, so much so that they felt obligated to update it.
And don't worry, I think one of the Annacy descriptions said they'd be showing a clip, either from the show or a featurette on how it's made, but since it's more of a press thing I don't know if we'll get to see anything. Maybe they'll release it for us afterwards, who knows! Seems like it's picking up a little.
I actually did a style prediction a long while back when we got a good updated key art image and I'm surprised how unintentionally accurate it ended up being to this most recent one.
I actually almost thought someone traced mine and used it as a poster but the most recent one is official.
This one below is mine;
Heck, I even got the hair shine right without knowing beforehand.
@Tactical-Ochoa so basically my argument is invalid because I literally JUST started up on YouTube and I'm not going with the norm of criticizing something that people claim to know a bunch about but have seen exactly zero seconds of footage of? Gotcha
When I've posted on tumblr that I'm proud of what I've done with my video, I'm not claiming to be super famous or successful or popular or that I have a huge influence or following or something. I literally JUST started the channel and I'm working super hard balancing work and school and putting that channel together so it actually has consistent content. I recognize there are a lot more popular and successful channels that have done videos with negative inclinations towards the show they also have not seen and that I'm nowhere near them at the moment, but obviously my goal was to reach that level, and it is slowly climbing.
I was super hesitant about making this video because I recognize there are and always will be people who will go out of their way to find negative things to nitpick about in any spectrum, and you and others seem to embody that kind of stubbornness. And that's fine, you don't have to like it. Nobody's forcing you to, I'm certainly not.
Alternatively, what making it made me realize was that amidst those people that are unwilling to budge or be positive about it, there are much more than expected who are open-minded and willing to give it a fair chance and make a value judgement about it based on its actual content and not on track records or massive assumptions.
I realize the status quo, but there are two things one can choose to do when faced with it; either they accept it and do nothing, or they decide to make a change even if they are alone in that endeavor, and hope others will stand by their side.
I don't have tens and thousands of viewers, but when people who work on it have shared it and told me they appreciate what I do to try and help, and people who were once as skeptic as you message me and tell me their mind is changed, that's the only true success I could hope for.
Hope you change your view on things in the future. It's better on the bright side man.
@Tactical-Ochoa Its probably gonna take me a while to sift through that big chunk of text, but I would, for the moment being, like to point out that though every one of CN's shows is indeed made by CN and aired on CN, every show (even if some share execs) has a completely different production team. There are probably 10 to 12 shows of theirs that are produced in-house, meaning at the main studio, and all others are produced in other studios, all by separate individual production teams that have nothing more to do with each other than the fact that they work for CN.
So yeah, it kind of is a little unreasonable to be comparing a show you haven't seen yet to two other reboots that air on the same network with completely different production teams, one of which is not produced in the same studio as the other two. Although since all three are reboots of past CN properties involving superheroes and meeting mixed reactions, it's easy to understand the misconception.
I'd also like to point out that, since I've released the video, a lot more people have been coming out of the woodworks in favor of giving the reboot a positive chance and are actually pretty hyped. The point of the video was to kind of help people see the bright side of things, and I'm not quite sure you're speaking on behalf of as many people as you might think you are in terms of people being super fed up and being on the verge of boycotting CN.
I mean, I completely understand your hesitance towards a lot of things revolving around the reboot, and those feelings are entirely valid. However, you might be looking a little too hard into some things here.
Really hoping you'll give it a chance in the long run and that you'll grow to enjoy it in the future. Lots of love and hard work goes into it, and you might find you'll enjoy yourself a lot better if you loosen up and give something like this a try.
Here's to change!
@admin I'm actually the one who made that! I was a little shy to post it here because some of us tend to get a little opinionated, but I'm glad it got shared here. Hope you all enjoy it.
@Ben-10-Fan @Rexfan1333 It's probably a minor inaccuracy. Remember how different the very first promo looked in comparison to this and the last recent one with Fourarms, Diamondhead, and Cannonbolt?
I did manage to get a higher quality screenshot of it!
Yo, this image just dropped from Tumblr! It's said to be from a Dutch video promo for the reboot, but I don't have the link just yet! Just thought I'd share the new find!
I like it a lot, and I think it reflects my predictions about it looking more like the recent promos and less like the very first one!
If I get the link, I'll put it here!
@coco-media that design IS flat chested.
@Rexfan1333 okay but, Phil Bourassa dos concept work for the original Ben 10, and there are former Generator Rex AND Ultimate Alien staff members working on the reboot.
Plus Korea is the one doing the fine tuning to the animation and coloring
Basically what I mean to say is, you're getting what you've all wanted with this reboot (and a bit more, and I wish I could elaborate on what I mean but it'll have to wait) and a style doesn't have to be realistic or intricate to be good
Also, as an artist and someone who's starting to dabble in animation, I don't think a lot of you understand just how difficult it can be to animate detailed character models. Even shows that have simple designs can take a friggin long time to do because of what the animation itself does, and it also takes time to send it over and get it back from the other countries that help work on it.
I know it probably /seems/ simple to just hire a detailed design artist and then pop some ideas into the cartoon machine and have an entire show pop out but that's not how it works
@cooljay7 ...that's literally exactly like the old cartoon. What are you going on about honestly
@Omni-Triforcer Honestly, every one of the shows has had comedic aspects. Nobody wants a comedy-centric version of a show that was never comedy-centric. Sure, different versions of the show have had varying levels of comedy in it but then you get into what kinds of things people consider comedy to be, and that's kinda subjective when you take into account people's preferences.
I think the general consensus here is that people don't want one that has a focus on comedy instead of the story. All of them have had action and whatnot, but I don't think there's ever been demand for a comedy-centric Ben 10 show.
Whether or not you should be nervous about that idea being tangible, well... I should probably say whether or not you decide to be nervous about that idea being tangible is up to you. Whether or not it's an actual possibility is a very different story. CN (which is a collection of different administrators overseeing a collection of different creators with a collection of different staff members) has a track record in terms of reboots which, at this point, has not been savory, but the subsequent groups under CN (admins, creators, staff, etc.) have different individual track records. These individual groups come together to make things that the people in charge of deciding whether or not it airs have more of a managerial role than an absolute final say like people tend to think.
Basically, CN is a bunch of different things and shows don't come from the top and trickle down, they come from one layer that another layer takes care of and are overseen by the top layer, and the top layer makes minor changes. People come to them with ideas and they help the people to make the idea tangible. If you're worried about Ben 10 turning into an equivalent of Teen Titans GO! you shouldn't be questioning CN's track record, you need to be questioning the track record of whoever is coming to CN and wanting to make it happen (that being MoA).
@Tactical-Ochoa Yeah, I've studied OV's design trends and I see them a lot in the first few reboot images.
@Tyranidomega I sort of thought the more recent promos looked like Scott Pilgrim
We're probably not going to see a videogame that early on with the show. The last few ones didn't do too good, and usually shows only get games if they're pretty successful/popular right off the bat sooooo... ??? I'd guess probably not, but maybe later in the future if it does well as a show.
