My hopes for the 6th Ben 10 series

  • If I was in charge for a possible upcomming 6th Ben 10 series, I would have made it a HBO Max series. That way, Man of Action would have more creative control over the show and dont have to go after CN's restrictions. In that show, I would want Ben to be a teenager again, wearing the Ultimatrix and the green jacket and be serious again like he was in the first two seasons of AF. All the characters should have their UAF look and/or be drawn in UAF style. Everything should be story driven and more mature than Omniverse and the reboot. It would have been perfect for the Ben 10 franchise right now to be a HBO Max exclusive. I really hope it happen!

  • @Mortie-10 I'm guessing that your favourite series is Alien Force/Ultimate Alien which is fine and I get that the tone of the series would be really important. That said, given that this would probably be a sequel to the first 4 shows I don't know why Ben would end up having the Ultimatrix again, neither would he be wearing his UAF clothing. However with regards to the functionality of the "true" Omnitrix I would actually have it work properly rather than constantly glitching or giving Ben the wrong alien (which I suspect was for comedy reasons more than anything)

I know that a lot of people really like Ben when he's mature and serious rather than cocky, but personally I believe that he's a bit boring if he's too mature since he cant grow as a character. I would prefer him having a personality with a bit of cockiness but getting serious when the stakes are raised - you know kinda like Spider-Man . I think that Alien Force Seasons 1 and 2 made him too serious, Season 3 went the other direction and amped his immaturity way too much, Ultimate Alien came the closest to encapsulating teenage Ben's personality but he was still inconsistent - one day he's being a goofball and the next day he believes fully that he needs to put Kevin down no matter what (remember that this is meant to be his best friend). And then in Omniverse Ben was immature again (though imo not as insufferable as AF S3) though he did have moments from time to time where you could tell that he was the same Ben.

It would be nice to have a story-driven show but the odd filler episode here and there is fine (so long as they are good) because to have characters develop fully, you need to give them downtime when the stakes aren't world-ending in my opinion

  • While I'd love for them to go back to the uaf art style, I don't think it would make sense for them to do that after Omniverse.

@coreofthesun Ben is at his best when he's cocky and fun-loving as well as serious and mature. And yes, kind of like Spider-Man. That's a character that I very much compare Ben to. Anyways, part of what makes Ben at his best is that balance with his character. If he's too cocky and fun-loving, Ben becomes annoying and unlikable. If he's too mature and serious, Ben becomes boring and uninteresting. There needs to be a proper balance between both sides.

It's not just in regards to Ben as a character either. Same can apply to the shows as well. Alien Force and Ultimate Alien often felt too mature and serious while Omniverse and the reboot show often felt too comedic, fun-loving, and lighthearted. The Original Series was a mix of both sides. There were plenty of moments where the Original Series was being funny, fun-loving, relaxing, and lighthearted as well as action-packed, intense, mature, and serious. Both sides balanced each other out and made the show fun, interesting, engaging, compelling, etc.

It's something that Ben as a character and Ben 10 overall needs more of. That more ideal balance between being fun-loving and mature.

  • I wasn't a Spiderman fan myself but have you played the SpidermanPS4 (& PS5) games ?

I'd love to have a Ben 10 game get made using the codebase from those Spiderman games. Even get the writers of Marvel's Spider Man to work on a Ben 10 show man that would be lit

    @npzman No, I haven't played them.

  • @Tactical-Ochoa Yeah I always knew that you weren't into platforming games when I asked about that a long time ago.

But yeah spidermanps4 is a great game and that's where I'd have my inspirations of a Ben 10 Game. This is coming from a person who don't even care Spider Man at all. You should play it I've 100% it a long time ago. Yeah I know that you were always into the more mature and darker games but still.

@npzman Did I say that I wasn't into them? I don't recall that. Also, I'm pretty sure that Insomniac's Spider-Man games aren't platformers. They're open world action games.

Unless it shows up on PC, I won't be playing it for a while. I haven't owned a Playstation console since the Playstation 1 and I won't be getting a new console for quite a while. I'm pretty well settled with my gaming PC at the moment.

I also don't recall saying that I'm always into more mature and darker games.

Say I wonder if they're gonna do a Ben 10 spin off cartoon series featuring Grandpa Max Tennyson how his life on the road by himself without his Grandkids. And hanging with his old former Plumber partners or friends. So what do you think of my idea?

It's a fun way to think about this what if every Ben 10 show was it's own standalone universe. It would seem odd to have alien force and ultimate alien as standalone universes.

@Ben-10-Fan I still think they can turn it around and improve the reboot, I'm still not sure that the Gwen spin off is even being made, but I hope so. It might help the franchise.

@chronosapien234 Yes, true. The Circus Freaks were important with his plan. However, that's just because they're villainous henchmen characters. Even without Zombozo, the Circus Freaks still end up temporarily as the henchmen to another villain. You know, Ghostfreak. Pretty much almost every time we've seen the Circus Freaks, they are serving somebody. Mostly Zombozo. They're just villainous henchmen characters. They helped but they're not really all that important. In fact, I believe that there pretty much wouldn't be a difference at all if they aren't around. Why? Because, again, they're henchmen. They're also basic thugs, too. The Circus Freaks are not that important. Also, this is about Zombozo as a character and villain. What makes Zombozo who he is. Why he is like that. How he executes his plans. What makes Zombozo as Zombozo and he doesn't need the Circus Freaks for that. That is another out of the many problems with Omniverse and even the other sequels. The Original Series was able to do things that not many cartoon shows ever did. The Original Series did something new. The sequels were generic and typical cartoon shows. They barely did anything new if nothing new at all. That episode in Omniverse with Zombozo turning everyone in Bellwood into zombie clowns. If it was a nod to the Original Series, it failed at trying to delivery and do something unique and impressive. No instead, it ended up being another terrible episode due to Ben regaining his fear of clowns and one major plot hole that really ruined that episode, let alone the sheer cartoonish stupidity of it. Does nobody remember that Zombozo and the Circus Freaks are villains? Does nobody remember what they've done in the past? Oh, Ben regained his fear of clowns, huh? Thanks for making Ben conquering his fears in the Original Series pointless now, Cartoon Network. As for the plot hole, ask yourself this question? Those toy teeth that turn people into zombie clowns. Yeah, how is it that those teeth can bite through Plumber armor and hazmat suits let alone BASIC CLOTHING? They're plastic toy teeth. Is Plumber armor really that terrible and not that protective? I thought Stormtrooper armor was bad enough. Plumber armor is even worse. That one plot hole alone makes that entire episode freakin stupid and terrible. It shows how poor and lazy the writing, structuring, and designing of the sequels are. I know it's a cartoon show but again, it needs to make sense and needs to be understandable enough to work.
