Tragic back story

As much as I love Ben 10, I really think Ben should have a tragic back story to motivate him to become a hero (like Spider-Man losing Uncle Ben, Batman losing his parents to criminals, Superman losing Krypton, etc.), I highly doubt that the reboot won't do something like that, but I feel it's necessary in my opinion. What do you think?.

@Rexfan1333 I'm going to say no. I find tragic backstories where the hero loses someone or something they love as motivation to become a hero is to common and generic at this point and is just not original and unique and doesn't stand out. It's pretty much a cliche of hero stories now. We don't always need a loved one to die all the time just to motivate a hero to become a hero. With Ben, what motivates him to become a hero is just the constant struggle that he faced with life. Most especially in regards to Ben's bullies, Cash and JT, constantly picking on him and others. That's what motivates Ben to wanting to become a hero and to help others when they're in trouble. Ben just needed the ideal opportunity to allow him to carry this out and him finding the Omnitrix is that very opportunity that Ben's been looking for.
I find this much more unique for Ben. It stands out more than the constant and generic "losing loved ones" cliche that's used to motivate heroes to become heroes. It's something that we don't see often and it feels refreshing even to this day. I'd rather not have some tragic backstory where Ben loses someone that's important to him in order to motivate him to become a hero. It's not necessary. Ben doesn't need a tragic backstory like this.

@Tactical-Ochoa I understand, I just feel that Ben needs something to push him to helping people and taking things seriously once in a while, but I don't think it needs to be the generic type like family members dying, it could be someone got hurt because of him to make him take being a hero seriously. But that's just me.

I agree tactical the tragic backstories is getting stale
@KorseBLI-ND Yeah, it has been done a lot in movies and comics these days that it's gotten boring, but you can still be creative with it.

Also, what I'm referring to with someone important to Ben dying also extends to someone getting hurt as well. Motivating the main character does not always have to revolve around someone important getting hurt or killed.
What I would find for this concept to work well in for Ben 10 is for a tragic event to happen that would cause Ben to become Ben 10,000. That is where the concept of the tragic story/event would fare better in. Otherwise, again, in regards to Ben starting out on being a hero, he doesn't need a tragic back story to motivate him to become a hero.

ah rexfan1333 there is a idea I would love to seen done but it probably wont work for a kids show ben gets betrayed by the plumbers and he loses one of his arms and loses his left eye and he builds a group to fight the plumbers and with his group there is no just cause no greater good what they do they do all for revenge

I think Ben has all of the motivation he needs. First it was just to be lauded as a hero, then it became about really helping people. Gwen was motivated by wanting to be his partner in that work and they are both motivated by each other. That holds true even if your not a bwen fan.

I think it's nice for Ben not to have a tragic backstory so he can mature as a hero. First, he starts doing it for the thrill, just because he wants to feel special. Then, during his journey, he matures - maybe screwing up with something important - and sees that he must do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. Like in Secret of the Omnitrix.
