Ben 10 Reboot Discussion Part 1: Season 2

Yeah getting rid of Upgrade and not pushing the number of aliens for Ben is a bad move. Now we know what's gonna happen if we get more seasons, they'll basically get rid of one alien for another... Which tbh I find unnecessary.
I know Steven, one of the creators, said his Grandpa thought it was weird to have Ben have over 10 aliens but every single franchise broke that, so why actually keep it? That actually makes things interesting.
We get why Young Ben isn't allowed to transform from alien to alien until he figures out how to hit the symbol when he's older, but still, not adding on aliens... its stupid.
Although I can see another reasoning for it since how do you upgrade... Upgrade?@ebomnitrix That is IF the reboot even gets more seasons after season 2.

Most likely it is considering the show is still in production and usually Cartoon Network doesn't release a season unless its complete.

Them keeping it at 10 aliens make sense for balancing sake since Ben with access to so many aliens makes him OP. But I still wish they would add the aliens to his roster rather then take aliens out and then add them

Lets start some speculation here. What alien will probably be next on the chopping block? Because if they're trying to keep it at 10, we'll have to loose another alien. Which one do you think it would be?

Yeah I can imagine anyone being mad at the situation of Upgrade being removed for Shock Rock. DC makes a point, shouldn't Upgrade still be unlocked?
But yeah its been 10 years, and its come to the point where more than 10 aliens are allowed at this point, so having this decision now... is pretty stupid and limits how many aliens we're ever gonna get in this series.
Imagine if Season 3 came along and somebody like Grey Matter gets replaced for Brainstorm? or Four Arms for Rath, which he's confirmed to exist. There's no point in removing this. Alien Force only managed to make it work for Chromastone to Diamondhead because literally Chromastone was killed, which the Omnitrix altered its DNA to use Diamondhead as his regeneration process which is also why he had Chromastone's armor on him, so... who knows?It's Action Time!

I agree with many things from this video, but I also think Kuro The Artist glossed over some things (mainly the viewership decline that led to AF's third season tonal shift). I will write here the comment I sent him:
"I feel the viewership decline from the two first seasons of Alien Force have a very clear reason: While I do agree with you that storytelling was better and at its prime, the characters simply... weren't. And a long-running franchise success is always because of its characters, not just a story, no matter how good.
You mentioned you can't picture Bloxx on the Original Show continuity, I agree with you. But I also can't picture Ben, Gwen and Kevin from Alien Force in the Original Show continuity. Back in the Original Show, Kevin was a total psycho who tried to kill both Ben and Gwen on several occasions and backstabbed Ben every time Ben offered him a chance. In Alien Force, they simply pretend Kevin was never that bad and quickly accept him into the team before the first episode is over. In Original Series, Gwen is a badass and smart girl. In Alien Force, Gwen's new personality is being an infatuated schoolgirl who likes to smell Kevin's sweaty handkerchief (Kevin's Big Score) and who pratically begs him to ask her out (All That Glitters). Ben was funny in the original show. While I do agree he should be more mature at 15, he could still have been funny (like Spider-Man), but he was way too serious, and took attitudes - like taking off the Omnitrix - that didn't fit his character and were never properly explained on the show. Besides, I don't think the new 10 aliens were as interesting as the first 10 aliens from the original show. They shouldn't have replaced ALL of them right off the bat.
So I do feel people simply saw that the characters from Alien Force didn't feel like the Classic characters and abandoned the show. Then, everything went downhill as CN desperately tried to bring those viewers back but only lost even more viewers."
