  • @Omni-Triforcer And then you have moments such as the clip from the episode, The Ring Leader. Losing is a lot like going to the grocery store? Sumo Slammers is not real wrestling so Ben beating Gwen is not a victory for him? It's not real wrestling but it is a video game that features competitive matches so yes, it is a victory for Ben, even if it is virtual. Ben was playing against Gwen in a video game. Knowing Ben and his and Gwen's rivalry towards each other, beating Gwen in a video game is usually more than enough of a victory for him. That's really the moments of wisdom and lessons that Max is going to provide in the reboot. I don't even remember Max saying anything so stupid like that in the OS and would likely know better as well. It's pretty mediocre writing really. I also don't care if anyone considers this as nitpicking. Overall, there's a difference between saying something that's bizarre and saying something that's stupid.

I actually agree with him in that clip and thats the clip that i was actually watching before i gave that post. Everything he says is true? Have you done actual wrestling? I have did it for 8 straight years and it is no joke? Video games don't compare.

  • You're just noticing that now? TBH they could just not be like regular hot dogs, I mean they just mentioned a bunch of stuff like Bhagwana earlier, so I think Max still has his disgusting and alien habits, its just won't be showed a million times over and over.

    That could be true.
Anyone else think those friends of his are former plumbers?

@Omni-Triforcer No, I haven't done wrestling but I have done Tae-kwon-do for around 7-8 years. I know that video games don't compare. They're video games. Let me try to reword it. It was pointless for Max to step in like that and give those stupid analogies and explanation. Ben and Gwen are well aware that they were just playing a video game and not doing actual wrestling. Ben was celebrating a personal victory because he beat Gwen. I said that Max's explanation of wrestling and the difference between virtual and real wrestling was stupid because it was a poor way of setting up the main plot of that episode.

Max could've just told Gwen somewhere around the lines of "it's just a video game," "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose," and "you could always beat Ben in another game match." That's it. Instead, however, Max was written to bring down Ben and set up the plot for the episode when a better reason for Ben wanting to do actual wrestling could've been used instead, such as in the OS episode Ready to Rumble, for example.

  • To me, I really think most comedy in Cartoon Network shows aren't that funny anymore. And I'm really starting to think that Greg Cipes' Disney voice work (He recently guest-starred on an episode of Star vs the Forces of Evil & is voicing Mort Schaeffer in Milo Murphy's Law) is more enjoyable than his DC Comics & Cartoon Network voice work.

@KorseBLI-ND it could be an exhibit but from the 3d image of four arms it looks like it will most likely be a game or a computer animated movie

So it is a retelling @Tactical-Ochoa you were right.
Confirmed we will see his orgins.

  • man I would love to see a event like this in grand rapids Michigan so I could try to go to it

  • @Omni-Triforcer Of course I was right. I pretty much knew that the reboot is just a retelling/remake of the Ben 10 OS. I knew ever since the Ben 10 reboot was first announced because they gave us the very premise of the reboot, which is the same exact premise as the OS. So yeah, this reboot is pretty much a remake of the OS with many, if not most, elements of the reboot coming from any of the other previous Ben 10 shows and that's it. The Ben 10 reboot is pretty much a remake of the OS.

I mean thats not necessarily a bad thing though.

@Omni-Triforcer No but as I said many times before, it's very much unnecessary. As I also said before, what is the point of watching this "reboot" when you could just go and watch the OS again which does pretty much everything that the reboot is doing but much better? Actually, scratch that, it IS a bad thing to do especially when the reboot show doesn't improve on what the original show achieved. You're really going to be excited for a show that just retells the same exact story as another show within the same series but done worse and not better? If this was a true reboot, there would've been a good chance that there would be a new direction to the story. Something different. Something unique.

There's Ben 10 fan fiction, that I've come across, that would suit much better as a reboot. One example from fan fiction: Ben and Gwen are already teenagers, Max and Ben's dad are dead, Ben and Gwen find the Omnitrix hidden in the Rustbucket with a message from Max asking them to keep it safe, and Ben puts on the Omnitrix. Another example from fan fiction: Max and Gwen go on their summer road trip, a pod lands near Gwen, inside the pod is a young possibly human boy not from Earth that's wearing the Omnitrix, Gwen names that boy Ben, Ben uses the Omnitrix to help people while learning more about Earth and getting more accustomed to living in human society, Ben and Gwen learn more about Ben's past as he was studied by Azmuth during the creation of the Omnitrix acting as a test subject for it, etc. Yeah, that example would have the summer road trip premise but we would get a new and different direction to Ben as a character and how that would impact the story. Another example would be to reboot Alien Force by making Ben 10 Hero Generation. It could arguably be a remake but it would still go a different direction for the series than what Alien Force onwards went, which would be enough to consider Hero Generation to be a reboot.

Going back to the Ben 10 reboot, again, it is a bad thing that this current reboot is going this direction of just merely retelling the same story as the OS; especially, again, if the reboot doesn't improve on what the OS managed to achieve. It was a bad move and direction for Cartoon Network and Cartoon Network Studios to take with the Ben 10 series. This is something that's going to backfire on them and hurt them even more; especially if the reboot turns out to be average or mediocre or worse. Even if the reboot ends up being good, if it doesn't turn out to be better than the OS, there's a good chance that it's going to flop and fail.

  • In the opinion of a person who doesn't care very much about the original series (I only watched four or five episodes), I have a extremely positive outlook on the reboot and I think a lot of people are going to like it.

@offbeatcat Well, yes, not a lot of people look at the bright side of the Ben 10 reboot because the flaws that it has overshadow the positives of it. That happens all the time with various movies, shows, video games, etc. If the negatives outweigh the positives, people focus more on criticizing and pointing out the negatives more than praising the positives. Ghostbusters (2016), Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Suicide Squad, Metal Gear Survive, the Powerpuff Girls reboot, etc. are all examples of it. It works the other way around as well. If the positives outweigh the negatives, people praise the positives more than they criticize and point out the negatives (well, that's unless they're far left SJWs because those folks always look for negatives in everything for political reasons). Nier Automata, Doom (2016), the original Teen Titans, Ed Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dunkirk, Batman: The Dark Knight, Logan, Deadpool 1 and 2, Forrest Gump, etc. There are some exceptions out there but overall, that's generally how most people are.

Well, Tara Strong is going to voice Ben again for the Ben 10 reboot after all. Or at least be in the cast for the reboot. Thank god. At least we finally got something that's very good. https://twitter.com/tarastrong/status/745623405035061248

oh yeah i thought you meant they changed the reboot upgrade design. I mean every alien has been redesigned and as far as i can see this is one of the non drastic ones.
