Tara Strong might not voice Ben Tennyson in the Ben 10 reboot. Yup, you heard that right.
-
So on February 16, 2016, the YouTube channel RebelTaxi had their 45th podcast and in the podcast, Pan-Pizza (the guy that runs the RebelTaxi channel) announced that alongside Paul Eiding not voicing Max Tennyson for the Ben 10 reboot, Tara Strong would not be voicing Ben Tennyson for the Ben 10 reboot either. RebelTaxi usually gets their information from sites like Twitter and other social media and news sites but I've tried contacting Pan-Pizza asking where that info about Tara Strong came from but even to this day I haven't got a response back from him.
Now 11 days ago, I contacted @admin asking if his friend from CN Studios knows anything about this and he responded back saying that there's been a change in the voice recording department and his friend doesn't know much else about that. That now it's unsure as to whether Tara Strong will voice Ben or not for the Ben 10 reboot.
I don't know if this information is true, and I really hope that it isn't true, but what further makes me think that it is true is this. First off, back when the Ben 10 reboot was first announced, it was also mentioned in an article that SOME of the old voice cast members of the Ben 10 series COULD be making a return for the Ben 10 reboot. I'll link the article down below. Next is the PPG reboot in regards to Cartoon Network bringing back many of the original cast from the original PPG show but replaced the original voice actresses that voiced Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup with new voice actresses. Be mindful of this. Tara Strong was the original voice actress for Bubbles and for those that are following Tara Strong on Twitter, you should already know her reaction to this considering that she stated that it was a "stab to the heart" for her and the other two original voice actresses. The final piece of evidence is that Paul Eiding isn't going to voice Max Tennyson for the Ben 10 reboot. Riding wasn't even asked by Cartoon Network if he wanted to voice and portray the character much like how the original voice actresses for Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup weren't asked by Cartoon Network if they wanted to voice the girls for the PPG reboot as well.
With all of this in mind, I believe that this information could more likely be true. That Cartoon Network is trying to pull the same stunt that they did with the PPG reboot onto the Ben 10 reboot. If anyone else here has any thoughts and opinions on this, feel free to comment on this page. If anyone has and wants to provide any more evidence and/or information that proves whether or not this is true, feel free to post it here as well.

@Tactical-Ochoa That sucks (I honestly don't mind her not voicing Ben and hope we might get a young boy actor to voice him, but they probably won't) , but I hope Tara will come voicing other characters like Attea and Lucy though. (if CN wants those characters back that is)
-
@Tactical-Ochoa Frankly, this doesn't give me much hope for the reboot if they seem to be taking the PPG reboot route to it (because we all know how that turn out). I'm going to hold cautious optimism up until the first trailer drops at least, however.
-
As stated before, this information might be true so I'd suggest for the moment that everyone takes this with a grain of salt. I'm still trying to find legitimate confirmation as to whether or not this is true.
-
Yep, so that probably means Isabel Martiñon, Charles Emannuel, Kajetan and Beniamin Lewandowski and Paul Zurbau, VAs who play Ben in other dubs, won't return to the reboot too. Because CN will probably replace them too! That sucks. Fortunately, I still have hope in the reboot despite the sad news.
-
@GoodVibes1999 Well maybe they'll voice Ben. Just because one voice actress might get replaced with a different voice actor doesn't mean the same is going to go for every other voice actor that does the various dubs for the same character.
-
@Tactical-Ochoa Yes, maybe... But I'm sure Paul Zurbau won't return! According to some reliable sources, CN Romania stopped sending their series to be dubbed in Oradea (where the original franchise was dubbed), probably because their dubs are really awful.

So I made a comment that gives my thoughts and opinion on this bit of info and casting choices in general on the Ben 10 Englishboard Forum site and I'm going to post and share that very comment on here as well. Feel free to post your thoughts and opinions on this page if anyone wants to.
My comment from the Ben 10 Englishboard Forums site:
"I wouldn't mind about having a new voice cast really and I would agree that it can be a good thing if the new voice cast is at least good or great. Having a new voice cast would be a good thing if they are suitable and qualified enough to voice and portray these characters. Not because they're fresh and new. Even then, why bring in new voice actors to portray these roles when it's just better to keep the original voice actors. That it's just better to keep Tara Strong as Ben, Paul Eiding as Max, and even bring back Meagan Smith as Gwen considering that these voice actors have very much proved to be the best choices as voices for the main characters. Tara Strong is indeed the best option for Ben because even if she didn't voice him in the past, Strong has history of doing a great job voicing young child characters. Paul Eiding is indeed the best option for Max because Max is the type of character that keeps secrets even from people that are very important to him and Eiding has voiced that type of character before in the form of Roy Campbell from the Metal Gear Solid series. Having a new cast can be a good thing if they are a good choice of voice actors but it's just better to keep the old cast who still prove themselves to still be the best choices for voicing these characters.I would understand if the old cast are pretty expensive to hire but CN didn't even ask Paul Eiding if he wanted to voice Max and CN didn't even ask Tara Strong if she wanted to voice Bubbles, something that Tara Strong really wanted to do for the PPG reboot and CN brought back every other original voice actor except that of the main girls themselves. Also, at least in my opinion, that excuse doesn't hold that much merit since that CN could've worked around that through some negotiating and making agreements if the old voice cast do offer a little too much for their roles. I would definitely understand if the original voice actors aren't available to voice these characters but again, CN didn't even ask some of their original cast to come back and voice these characters and again, Tara Strong and the other two original voice actresses for Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup really do want to voice the main girls for the PPG reboot. In regards to the quality of the show, it doesn't matter that much that CN wants to bring in a fresh new set of voice actors if these very voice actors are not suitable and qualified enough to portray these well established and recognized characters.
In my opinion, it's better for the Ben 10 reboot to bring back the original voice actors for Ben, Gwen, Max, Vilgax, Hex and Charmcaster, everyone. Or at the very least try, just at least try, to bring every original voice actor back. If CN needs to find new voice actors because some of the original cast can't come back, that's very much fine. If CN just wants to bring in new voice actors to "freshen" things up, that's also fine but have them voice NEW characters. That's at least how I would do things with the voicing department for shows and well established series and franchises."

Well, Tara Strong is going to voice Ben again for the Ben 10 reboot after all. Or at least be in the cast for the reboot. Thank god. At least we finally got something that's very good.
