Ben 10 reboot discussion: Season 3
-
@ungrateful-wolf i was talking about ben. In any case, where did you learn which aliens are replacing who? If you don't know the full roster, there's a chance we might not have lost some aliens we think we've lost. please bring upgrade back
-
i'm really hoping humongosaur replaces four arms, because if ben has both, then we essentially have two strength aliens.
-
Well, the roster I got is more or less because of the new opening we got, with said aliens I mentioned.
Also, if Upgrade comes back, it won't be thanks to what happened in the season 2 finale. Upgrade's pod exploded in Omni-Tricked and his DNA merged with Ben's to become Glitch. If we want Upgrade back, we'll need a new viable Galvanic Mechamorph sample (and for Ben to stop toying with it so much) -

I liked the idea of Kevin having his own Omnitrix and still do but I don't like the way they are handling it. When I first saw it I thought that Kevin would have his own unique aliens. I was fine with that. But they are being so lazy with this. Kevin's aliens are just anti versions of Ben's. Thats just lazy and dumb.

THE KNIGHT IS GATHERING SUPERPOWERED KIDS FOR AN ARMY, IT'S LIKE THE ROOTERS AND THE NEGATIVE 10 -
This post is deleted! -
@ungrateful-wolf The reboot actually has an overarching story now
-
I AM SERIOUSLY FREAKED OUT
IS IT JUST ME OR
THERE WAS A LOT OF FORESHADOWING FOR THE KNIGHT
BECAUSEAnd he has been trying to use or recruit Ben for some evil plan. If we've been building up to this for the past two seasons...
Please let Ben be okay, please have the evil jerk recruit him peacefully without torture... -
i love the idea. I really do. But as this is the reboot, i don't think they were ever trying to make this an overarching story. it's merely a string of coincidences. We can't get our hopes up YET.
-
@offbeatcat Agree. I highly doubt that any of these scenes were meant to foreshadow the Forever Knights.
-
That's a BIG string of coincidences if you ask me.
-
@ungrateful-wolf Yes, but again, the episodes constantly love to reuse ideas. I think you MIGHT be onto something, but the odds aren't exactly in your favor. It's a "We'll see" thing.
-
It's exactly what I mean, "we'll see".
This is what I find fun whenever there's a new show, theorizing and finding a pattern allows for more suspense and potential surprise for the fans, even if it doesn't go anywhere. -
@ungrateful-wolf eh, fair point. i respect it.

Cartoon network has been posting some ben 10 footage, which i'll share here if there's anything worth noting. Here's our first look at this show's take on humongosaur, as well as "wreckingbolt" -

This snippet is worth sharing, as it shows us Rath, and it mentions a bit of what slapback does, which seems to be basically a glorified ditto. Also, it's a little strange shock rock is still here, as he is a major security risk, but he's part of the omnitrix. -

Well...this is our new opening, and presumably, our new set of aliens.
This isn't a very good lineup. -
Shock Rock was a major security risk because he kept sending signals to his planet.
The reason why he did that was because of an unforeseen consequence when Glitch used his pod to repair the Omnitrix.
When the Omnitrix got upgraded, the damage that was done was caused by an excessive energy charge, which Shock Rock's pod allowed to absorb. Shock Rock's pod was charged with the excessive energy from the entirety of the Omnitrix, meaning the Fulmini pod had the energy of the Omnitrix's alien pods too. That's why Ben's aliens had the Omni-Enhancements in season 2. And of course, since we all know the Omnitrix can leave a signal across space (as the past shows showed), Shock Rock's pod sent signals, and in return it made him more vulnerable to Override's messages and control.
Now that the Omnitrix got rebooted, Shock Rock's DNA doesn't have the excessive charge from the Omnitrix anymore (hence why we don't see the Omni-Enhancements anymore). Shock Rock's link to Fulmas and Override is broken, Ben can use him as he wishes to (man, this kid handles being turned into a mind slave better than I can handle school. Jk of course :P)
Shock Rock isn't a danger anymore now, Ben won't have to worry about losing a powerhouse like Gax (but he did lose a smart guy, a fresh guy and a natural guy. RIP my bois) -
@ungrateful-wolf thank you for the explanation
