@Omni-Triforcer That article's been out for a while. I remember reading it before. God though, there's so much that Man of Action says that really makes them so out of touch with the Ben 10 franchise.

I dont get what you mean

@Omni-Triforcer A lot of what they say isn't correct. Like how they stated that the older fans are now in their 20s and in college and therefore had moved on. No, much of the older fans are still into the Ben 10 franchise. They stated how the overall reception for the reboot is positive. Really? Everywhere you look, you will find that most of the reception for the Ben 10 reboot is strongly negative. Where did Man of Action get that from? Either they're lying and trying to make it look as if the show is doing well or they really haven't been following up on social media in regards to the reboot. Or both. They stated how it was too soon for Ben to age pass 10. We had one show that focused on a 10-year-old Ben going through his entire summer road trip, ending with said road trip coming to an actual end with Secret of the Omnitrix, for three years. Hell, Man of Action were even going to make a sequel that would have Ben and Gwen in their teenage years. It was the perfect time to have the characters grow up.

    Stuff like that.

Its not like they are wrong about that first part though. Many of my friends that watched OS with me have since moved on from ben 10. and obviously they wont talk about the negative press the reboot is getting

  • Omni-Triforcer has a point, most people who are in their 20s have moved on. While some people haven't and go back to the golden age of when Ben 10's popularity spiked (Alien Force and Ultimate Alien) because most people who are in the Ben 10 fandom usually prefer Ben 10 during that time-span.

And I can kinda see Man of Action flip flopping with the idea of aging Ben and Gwen, I think at most they wanted to push for 14, not 17. But even then, some people can agree it was too soon to be done, and I think MOA is realizing over the years they now regret that decision.

If there's one thing I can agree with is your right about MOA losing touch with the Ben 10 fandom, they skipped the incarnations that people really liked and paid more attention to. Though Rebooting was their choice, they at least came back on board to make sure the show was done more their way, because we could have something much worse right now if they didn't come back. But people now don't want a Reboot, the Ben 10 fandom needs to expand beyond kids, and CN doesn't see that anymore, because they now think that kids won't understand a thing or something like that. But the point is, MOA has lost touch with the fandom, and rebooting it, though it was the smart way to go, its also dumb since you're not trying hard enough to keep the old fans there.

Ben 10's biggest problem is people want more exciting thriller episodes that get people excited for stuff to come, like the 200th Two-Parter, War of the Worlds, Vengeance of Vilgax, A New Dawn, Omni-Tricked, etc.
Shows like The Flash and Steven Universe have succeeded that because they give you a good payoff, and thought that's what the Reboot did at the end of the season. Now we need to expand upon that rather than most of the time getting episodes that revolve around filler or something that doesn't catch our eyes, we need less of that.

I feel like Season 2 is gonna open that door up for us with new aliens and the battle armors, and who knows, maybe even more new villains can debut this season. Because I can see Darkstar returning, Charmcaster and Kevin 11 debuting (maybe even make another 4 parter inbetween seasons for Kevin), and even newer exciting villains that really push the stakes, because that's what people want. A Ben 10 series where its "anything goes", and we push the stakes and surprises and throw things everywhere. I'm not saying we need a plot to do that, but we either need an overarching plot to the series, or we need to see Ben, Gwen and Max pushing their limits so we can watch these characters grow, and Pokemon XY succeeded in doing that because by now most people who have watched Pokemon or still are, they can confirm XY is one of the best of the series.

Another thing I'm going to say, every show is going to have its flaws, and we have to even agree the original had its flaws, but as long as this show can improve it over time, then this show might become better than UA/Omniverse, which means we're at least a step closer to getting more high quality episodes.

Totally agree with what ur saying dude. Although they did say that they have plans for future Ben whether that be teen ben or ben 10,000 we won't know till we see them but the plans are there. Maybe we will see a ben 10k episode.

  • So what can you guys see happening in the next season?

@Omni-Triforcer i have a feeling that this alien is related to the whole armor part of the aliens that we saw at toy fair and in that little 5 second teaser for season 2

  • Wow he looks really cool! I wonder if the commercial had any more info about him. He looks kind of like an electrical alien. What do you guys think?

  • I can already guess what his powers might be based on the Heatblast clip and the trailers.
He can either separate himself out into other aliens as battle armors, and since the alien is made up of electricity, I'm sensing electrical blasts. (While for other aliens, it powers up the transformations like Heatblast with electrical fireballs, or Four Arms with energy fists, Wildvine with "Blastcaster" capabilities (Gen Rex), etc.

So here's the commercial with him in it. It's funny because they state that he has 10 aliens but then show 11.

  • I wonder when they're gonna aired new episodes of Ben 10 Reboot season 2 on Cartoon Network? I like to see a Ben 10 Reboot clip featuring Grandpa Max relaxing in a hot tub that'll be cool.

@mortie-10 Nope. Not yet. Cartoon Network hasn't even finished airing the Ben 10 reboot's first season in the US.

@csgt I do agree with you on Charmcaster's UAF design. Granted, as shown in the quote that you're using to respond to, that's not the point that I'm addressing here. I'm not stating that Charmcaster's UAF design looks unique overall. I'm stating that it looks better and more unique than Charmcaster's reboot design. Even though her UAF design isn't really unique on its own, is most certainly not a design that I like and favor, and doesn't even hold a candle to Charmcaster's OS design, it is a better and more visually unique design when compared to Charmcaster's reboot design, which, again, looks very much like a typical and generic Goth girl. Considering how they've handled the Ben 10 reboot so far, I doubt that they're going to make a connection between Hex and Charmcaster in the reboot. Her first name being Hope and the concept of Ledgerdomain itself are pretty much the only things related to Charmcaster in UAF that I liked. Ledgerdomain does have some nice potential and Hope sounds pretty ironic considering what Charmcaster went through with Hex before the events of the Original Series. Everything else with Charmcaster in UAF is stuff that I don't like. I most especially don't like how they handled her relationship with Hex in UAF though given that it very much conflicts with what was established with them in the OS. Granted, you do make a good point. Charmcaster, and Hex, were terribly handled and written in the sequel shows. However, when it came down to Charmcaster as a character, I really only compared the reboot Charmcaster to the OS Charmcaster because yeah, Charmcaster went through a pretty severe downgrade in the sequel shows and Charmcaster was at her best in the OS. I do have an interest in making an article about Charmcaster and analyzing her as a character, much like how I did with other characters such as Julie Yamamoto and Professor Paradox. I know for sure that this Charmcaster article is going to address the points about her in UAF that you made here.

@Ebomnitrix And there's your episodes folks. I'm going to make a part 3 to Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot. Part 2 is already going on for long enough now and I plan on having part 3 be made specifically to discuss and comment on the episodes of the Ben 10 reboot. Here is the link to part 3. http://ben10club.org/topic/181/addressing-the-ben-10-reboot-part-3
