@mortie-10 It's been a while since I've seen Omniverse, but from what I recall, Rook did contribute significantly in a lot of the stuff that went on in the show. He's not a bad character and a lot of the stuff that you say about him is flat out wrong. Like what do you mean by he's completely fine with the retcons and some of the retcons wouldn't be there if he didn't talk about them. The show's retcons are not on Rook. That's on the crew that made Omniverse. Also, secretly evil and working for the Rooters? Seriously? Come on, man. That's freakin ridiculous and makes it seem like you're blindly disliking Omniverse. I don't consider Omniverse to be a good show, but I wouldn't go that far with Rook.

There is one thing that I do agree on the most, and that's Rook replacing Gwen and Kevin. Mainly Gwen though. Ben and Gwen work very well together. They have pretty much the best and most dynamic relationship in Ben 10. They fit each other like a glove so much that Gwen just doesn't seem like the type of character that should be replaced as Ben's partner. Rook doesn't feel like a proper replacement either. He seems better off as a side character than a main character. I don't mind Rook being introduced into the Ben 10 franchise, but he most definitely shouldn't have replaced Gwen and shouldn't have been a main character.

@Tactical-Ochoa Given that MOA and the other writers were the ones who created him, they probably understand him better than any of us do. And apparently that's the direction which they were going to take Kevin and Charmcaster in the inital sequel Hero Generation. Even when Dwayne McDuffie was brought on he at first wanted to take that same direction with Kevin but then CN mandated Kevin being on Team Tennyson. I don't think that it's completely out of the question that Kevin improves slightly for the better but he would never realistically get close to Ben and Gwen. Perhaps vigilante is the wrong word to use but Kevin doesn't work as a world ending stakes villain as much as he does a personal rival to Ben. Perhaps they're not always purely antagonistical of each other but Kevin works when he challenges the very person whom Ben is.

If I had to redo Alien Force would've actually given him his own arc to parallel the character development which Ben goes through. Perhaps something to do with his past and how he was treated back then . Perhaps there would've been a better way to implement his shattered relationship with his own family. Though rather than going down the path of love and light like Ben does, Kevin would probably take the other road of darkness and anger.

@coreofthesun The Mr. Smoothy mascots thing was certainly the biggest killer of that finale. It's one of the biggest examples of the show being too comedic. That's a noteworthy moment that really should've been taken more seriously but the crew, for some reason, decided to play it off as a joke. It really ruined the moment.

but then in Ultimate Alien Ben did said that they are out of prison but still in the null void. So I guess that is punishment enough. Forgetting that the null void itself is a prison.

@KineceleranGirl I recall hearing something like that. I guess I wouldn't mind about him being a vigilante or something of the likes as long as him and Ben remain as enemies and not friends. Not only do I think Kevin is far more interesting as a villain, but I think he has the potential to be one of the best and most dangerous and terrifying villains in the franchise. Moments like what you mentioned from the Ken 10 episode I think showcased that. Kevin's powers combined with his sheer obsession towards making Ben suffer is a very dangerous recipe that could really create quite an intense conflict for Ben, Gwen, Ken, etc. to deal with.
