  • Good. Glad that Vilgax, and even Kraab, are going to be in the reboot. Granted, Kraab is supposed to be a bounty hunter and not one of Vilgax's henchmen. Why they're waiting till season 2 to introduce Vilgax? I don't know. Hopefully they won't screw him up. Then again, they screwed up all the other villains so a part of me predicts that they're going to screw up Vilgax as well. This also likely means that there's going to be a season 2, which I figured would happen. Like I said, this show would most likely last for only 1 or 2 seasons and, much like what RebelTaxi said in regards to the PPG reboot getting a second season, there would likely be a season 2 of the Ben 10 reboot because CN Studios would already start working on it the moment they finished producing the first season.

@Tactical-Ochoa but its good that he bears a decent resemblance to the os

  • @Tactical-Ochoa Personally I honestly don't mind how they introduced Michael Morningstar, especially since its a new timeline, I mean people in different timelines will have changes like this honestly, and I honestly don't mind how he shows up at all. Hex wasn't all that screwed up too because when he debuted he was still the OS villain he was, I mean Brief Career was just... no, but the upcoming episode for him is promising. The only villain I've had a problem since his return is Animo, and its because he's literally been in the sidelines and we have YET to see a physical appearance.

  • @Nikita--Kleutin Great to see Vilgax still look like Vilgax. Hoping they won't mess this up.

@Tactical-Ochoa I honestly think season 2 might be serious (it might turn out to be those shows that slowly go from Meh/okay to decent/good situations like Omniverse), I'm not sure, I could be wrong, but this Vilgax looks actually intimidating to say the least, but we just have to wait.

It seems the first season was more trying to introduce you to characters as well as aliens so it wasn't impressive, but we might actually get something interesting pretty soon.

  • I honestly think toys look pretty cool, they have pretty epic concepts, but I can see CN screw them up badly.

Still sucks that we have no Gwen and Max figures.

  • @Nikita--Kleutin Finally Vilgax!

@Mortie-10 I know right, finally some good news worth getting.

@Rexfan1333 and he looks so goood

  • I have a feeling we will see vilgax toward the end of the season

  • One small thing that I have to say, I find that sword that he has to be out of place for him. It looks too generic and it doesn't fit into his design. An alien warlord with advanced technology and he has a plain sword? It just doesn't look right for Vilgax to have that.

@Tactical-Ochoa He used a sword in UAF, it didn't bother me at all actually.

@Rexfan1333 I know that. He used a bunch of stuff and did a bunch of things in UAF that really didn't suit him as a villain. It bothered me and many others because it didn't make Vilgax like Vilgax. It didn't make Vilgax the very villain and character that's he's supposed to be. It didn't match Vilgax's identity and what he is best known for.

@Tactical-Ochoa I get you, but as long as he's really evil, I'm okay with it. Sucks he might just be a generic vilian though, I want my villians with depth and not like a 2 dimensional take over the world kind of villian we see everyday in media.

@Rexfan1333 And I'm not ok with that. A lot of people are not going to be ok with that. We don't want Vilgax to just be even. We want him to be Vilgax. You say you're ok with it but it's really not ok and it shouldn't be ok to you and anyone else. If they screw up Vilgax in the Ben 10 reboot, criticize them for it. Get on their case about it. Negativity can benefit the show through the criticism that people provide. Improvements can't be properly made if there is no criticism to rely on. Vilgax shouldn't just be really evil. He should be Vilgax. Vilgax should have what made him at his best. Not be evil for the sake of being evil. Just being really evil doesn't make a good villain. You find this ok but it shouldn't be ok to you and anyone else here.

@Tactical-Ochoa Ture, makes me wish Ben 10 got the same treatment as Samurai Jack, but Man Of Action just stuck with CN eventhough they are obviously struggling with their shows and making god awful decisions, I want depth, drama, and character development in Ben 10 as well as talented artist working on it (the Japanese are incredibly good at this which is why I want a Ben 10 anime so badly), but it seems we might not get that anytime soon.

@Rexfan1333 Which is why it's important that fans advocate for better quality shows. If they don't want to listen to us, then we make them to listen to us. To say "no" to this type of stuff and to tell them what we really want.

@Tactical-Ochoa But problem they won't listen to us older fans, they are targeting the next generation of kids, I honestly don't think kids of this generation don't understand Ben 10 at all which is why the series should grow with us fans like Samurai Jack is doing. I don't want the franchise to end up failing because of CNs greed.

@cooljay7 said in Now that the Ben 10 Reboot is over what's next?: https://twitter.com/DCNetwork23/status/1381750728323125248 Why can't we get #BringBackActionBen trending to show Cartoon Network and Man of Action that we want the next series to return to the original continuity? Apparently #RestoreTheOmniverse is already trending in some countries. Unfortunately, I don't have a twitter, otherwise I'd retweet the hashtag. I saw a screenshot that someone posted saying that there's almost 19k tweets using the hashtag.

Why did I even say hyped at all When it's out I will watch it. If it ends up good then great I guess. It really gonna be my first time watching the reboot outside the first few episodes. If the execution of the original characters turns out to be terrible, well honestly I couldn't expect less from them.

There's 3 new aliens for the Anti-Trix: Undertow, Dark Matter, and Thornblade (in order below). I think that Thornblade looks awesome. [image: 1549064033522-image-2.png] [image: 1549064042249-image-1.png] [image: 1549064049320-image.png]

I'm pretty neutral on my thoughts about the reboot. It's not for me and I understand that some people have enjoyed watching it so I don't like to constantly whine and complain about it. But for me it does not match up to the writing in the Prime continuity, especially not to the original series which the reboot shares so many characters and concepts with. I was looking at parent reviews of OS Ben 10 on the slightly infamous site "Common Sense Media" out of boredom today since I only have one exam left. And what I read has led me to believe that there is a huge reason why the reboot seems to be restraining itself when it comes to everything to storytelling to character development to the transformation sequences and even the art style: because CN don't want the parents to be concerned and then ban their kids from watching the show (which would lead to less toy sales and profit). I will say that there are a great deal of parents who do approve of and highly recommend the show and deem it perfectly watchable for kids, although sometimes it may be worth having the parents watch it with them. However, there are also some parents who do not like the OS at all. Many seemed to be concerned that because the show had so many action scenes and admittedly brutal fight scenes, it would lead to their kids becoming violent because the kids couldn't differentiate between reality and fiction. They also seemed to despise how the relationship between Ben and Gwen was presented and how Ben was not a good role model for children due to his cockiness and immaturity. The alien designs also seemed to strike a nerve because they looked like (I quote) "something straight out of hell" and apparently some were far too scary. To all of that, my main response would be that Ben 10 was never meant to be a show just for kids, which seems to be a mistaken impression shared by many parents. It was made first and foremost to be an engaging and compelling show for all ages, with the main target demographic being 10-14 year olds - so not little kids. Yes there is violence but it is not graphic and in my view is necessary to an extent given that it is an action show. The relationship between Gwen and Ben is presented in a very realistic way rather than a 'candy' way (as I read someone saying on the website in defence of the show). They argue and bicker like siblings and are indeed imperfect characters but they do grow throughout the show and actually end up being more relateable for those watching who also aren't perfect. As for the alien designs, well, they're meant to be aliens and not superheroes in suits. Of course they're going to be weird looking and occasionally intimidating. I always thought that the designs were great even when I was much younger. So my conclusion from this? The opinions of a significant portion of parents (as I imagine that these views would be echoed outside of review websites) explain A LOT of the changes which we saw the reboot. The alien designs were changed to look more humanoid and less alien looking and "scary", and the art style was made simpler with a brighter colour pallet to stop younger kids getting scared. Ben and Gwen's relationship showed them getting along for the vast majority of the time to apparently set a better example to kids. The fight scenes are far more toned down and less creative than the original series. The villains are not as intimidating and there aren't significant consequences. One of the major reasons for so many of the reboot's changes is because the network wanted to cash in on the viewership of the younger end of their demographic of 5-10 years old, and so toned down the show so that their parents did not prevent them from watching. This might explain why a lot of Cartoon Network's shows are toning it down these days especially when compared to the mid 200s era. I'm really not trying to diss the parents here and I totally empathise with their concern for their children's wellbeing. Parenting can be rough at times (or so I am told by my parents). For me the solution would be to have sensible discussion with the kids and allow them to understand that lets say, Ben only fights against criminals or other really bad people and never used his aliens to attack anyone else . The misconception of 'all cartoons being for kids' often leads parents to make the mistake of allowing their young children to watch animated programmes which may be too complex or dark for their age, and then with the parents subsequently blaming the programme, it leads to CN making things more younger kid friendly at the cost of alienating the older side of their fanbase. For me, my parents were always cool with me watching Ben 10 as long as I didn't watch too much TV and as far as I remember I never developed behaviour problems while watching the show. In fact I'd think it's the opposite - I thought of Ben as a great role model while growing up, and the fact that he was imperfect only made me relate to him more.

@andrew42 it sounds pretty good to me, I love hearing ideas.
