The Mcduffie era of Ben 10 was awesome, and honestly when I think of these characters thats what i see in my head.
I've never heard the brother sister thing either but hay I'm sure a bunch of stuff got tossed around before the show aired. I mean who caes what they through beforehand what aired is all that really matters.

I don't think Gwevin failed, but Bwen would have taken more of a hit if Ben's love interests were more of a hit with fans. My favorite example of this. Kai " my relationship with ben is cannon " green. In every appearance except her last one in omniverse ( yea old DD just complimented omniverse ) did she had no chemistry at all. She just took advantage of him. Ring ring Ben its Kai Green I know we havent seen or spoken in 5-6 years but I need your help. . .. mind dropping everything crossing half the world so i can call you a fool half the episode? Thanks bye!
IF they made the viewers like Kai, people might day dream about ben keeping it in the family a bit less.
I can't believe anyone on that show wanted it to be ok for Ben to have romantic feelings for his cousin.
Adventure time I'm convinced would have been axed by CN if it didn't looks so stylized. Just at a glance AT looks like some sponge bob ish crap. Pay the tinyest bit of attention and it so much more. If CN knew what they had on there hands from day one they'd have canceled it in favored of some candy colored crap that sells toys and rots brains. We'd have lost out on so much great story telling.
I'm glad we got adventure time, and I'd like to think that id Dwayne McDuffie had lived Omniverse would have had that level of development to it.
Seems like the ultimatrix bit to me, but people keep saying its armor of some kind. Meh whatever
Online streaming I think really hurt plot related cartoons. TV is very episodic these days on CN. Everything that isnt is a leftover from years ago.

Because I have a sense of taste, and a working knowledge of BASIC story structure.
Maybe bens dna was deleted from the active list, and vilgax ran a recovery program? Maybe he scanned the area for new human dna and the omnitrix rebuilt bens dna? Why care its the reboot its not going to lead into anything the shows not that deep.

Dwayne Mcduffie was a smarter and more skilled writer then those that followed him.
DJW gave the impression everything that changed from TOS was bad, and every comment he made about characters and were they should be was ID HAVE KEPT IT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the Feeling Dwayne was writing a story and characters changed a bit as they went on and DJW just wanted a modern road runner cartoon were every episode was the same.
UAF didn't just make changes it evolved ( no pun intended) them. Omniverse was a crossed kindergarten teacher telling us NO NO NO IT SHOULD BE THIS WAY!
UAF tried a lot got a bunch right and failed at a few things.
Omniverse gave us a crayon drawing for an art class final, and had its mom call the principle so it would get a trophy OR ELSE.

No they said he was supposed to be developed as an anti-hero like what they planned for charmcaster. That doesn't mean redeemed.
I'm a Gwevin fan and given there history I question those two some times.

Actually Cartoon network wanted Kevin on Team Tennyson. Dwayne Mcduffie and co originally wanted to use Cooper as the 3rd member of the team.
The little monster from the original series. The other half Gwevin from alien force to omniverse. Ben's enemy Ben's best friend. A mutant an alien a brain washed hit man, or not. The character most screwed up by all the retconning.
I've been trying to get into Kevin's head space a bit recently. I can't seem to rationalize the feral child from the original series to the hero from AF-UA-OMNIVERSE to the villain in the ben 10k era ( and back again if omniverse is taken into the equation again ).
Who's is Kevin to you were do you draw the line in the forest of shifting retcons?
