@npzman I do remember Charmcaster mentioning that Ben had a magical aura of sorts as well, meaning that he could be a sorcerer with enough practice in theory, but something tells me that he’d get way too impatient to bother with the slow learning curve of magic lol.

they all had their good and bad points so I don't really have a favorite series, they are not perfect by themselves.

Another thing I've noticed in the end ultimate alien Azmuth said to Ben he might give him the master control for the Omnitrix on his 18th birthday which would give access to over a million alien. But future Ben would end up with a mere 10,000 Alien ?

Adding from my original post, I think that Ben as a character is ultimately Khyber's foil. As a hunter Khyber's entire character is revolved around observing his prey or opponents carefully before striking. He wants to find patterns in their behaviour, he wants to learn everything about who they are, and then catch them when they are least expecting it. But Ben's unpredictability and fun loving nature which is so often seen as a flaw may actually work to his benefit and ultimately help him prevail in the end. This combined with him being the wielder of the Omnitrix may make it just as frustrating for Khyber to defeat Ben as it would be for Ben to defeat Khyber (for the reasons I outlined in the first post) which I believe would lead to a really interesting conflict between them despite the lack of personal or malicious intentions from Khyber.

@coreofthesun I always found it stupid how Vilgax tried to tempt Ben with ultimate power...because Ben already has ultimate power. It's in the form of Alien X, the same alien that later in Omniverse recreates an entire destroyed universe.

@Mortie-10 Nice choices. The Alliance was a particularly thought provoking episode of the original, with a main character actually suffering a serious injury (Grandpa Max) and the part where Ben leaves because he believes he’s endangering Gwen and Max by staying near them is a really weighty emotional moment. The stuff with Vilgax throughout the episode was cool too and helped in the build up to the finale.

We both seem to share our favourite Alien Force episode lol , though it is a great one.

The Ultimate Sacrifice is an episode which really shows Ben’s selflessness despite his apparent arrogance - as soon as he truly learns of the sentient aliens’ plight he is wholeheartedly decided to sacrifice himself for them despite Gwen having the power to wipe them out and be done with it, and that goodbye scene with Gwen was pretty emotional. The functionality of the Ultimatrix and the Sentient Ultimates did throw me off a bit hence why I don’t rate it higher, but the themes of the story were solid.

Malgax Attacks was decent especially since it was centred around a fusion between two awesome villains and it’s good to see Ben learn how to work with Skurd after seeing him as nothing more than a pest. . I was never fond of the idea of Skurd even though he’s actually an entertaining character so that’s probably why I find this episode ok rather than great.

Alien X tinction felt a bit fanservice-y for me but it was still a cool finale to the reboot and to see all the Bens Together was pretty awesome. They nerfed Alien X but that was probably necessary.

@npzman I mean I don’t dislike UAF - it was the era which I grew up with first after all, and there were some awesome concepts in it. The idea of the Highbreed was excellent, as were the DNAliens (given that they were innocent humans under mind control rather than your standard beat ‘em up bad guys). I respect Mcduffie’s writing and honestly, as its own series Alien Force (and by extension Ultimate Alien) works really well as a show.

What I will say though is that UAF was not a great *sequel * to the original series. People love to complain about Omniverse’s retcons and plot inconsistencies when they really started all the way back in Alien Force. The Plumbers being changed from a secret organisation dedicated to protecting Earth from aliens into an intergalactic peace force, Kevin being an alien rather than a mutant and most of all the functionality of the Omnitrix being super inconsistent. If the writers had watched the original series properly the sequels would probably be way more watchable.
