Kevin and the Anti-trix
-
This whole thing is a strange scenario, so i feel it deserves its own area here where we speculate a bit on it, and just keep track of where this concept goes.
-
As of writing this, 3 of Kevin's very original aliens are confirmed. We've got dragonfly, whose design is currently unknown, but there's a high probability it'll be the evil stinkfly. Hotshot is just a much edgier looking heatblast. Wreckingbolt is a very ugly variation on cannonbolt. Any ideas on what his other 8 aliens will be?
-
Also, if people find good quality images of kevin's aliens, it'd be appreciated if you can post it here.
-
@offbeatcat Most likely just copies of Ben's other aliens.
-
@tactical-ochoa i'm aware of that, but the series has at least more then 11 to pull from so far, so i'm asking which ones they'd give him.
-
Yeah. We also don't know if he has Ben's original reboot roster or the current one, as well who the 11th is.
-
Here's something we haven't asked that we probably should be asking. Instead of focusing on the fact that kevin has his own omnitrix....where'd he get it? And who made it? It seems to be a bootleg of the omnitrix, and i doubt azmuth made it, so who did? Is it this world's albedo? Someone we haven't met? or are they just going to say that kevin found it and leave it at that?
-
@offbeatcat Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't explain that aspect of Kevin's Omnitrix in the show.
-
Well, if they don't, i guess thats up to the theorists. I'd imagine they're gonna say that "somehow vilgax made a bootleg copy of the omnitrix and it ended up with kevin" or some nonsense. However, i'm hoping they don't go that route.
-
@offbeatcat Christ, it would've been better to just scrap this direction and just give Kevin his freakin powers back. If they want to bring in a villain with their own Omnitrix, just bring back Albedo instead of changing Kevin in a way that removes the very key aspect about him that fundamentally defined him as a good character and villain.
-
@tactical-ochoa well, considering this is probably locked in, i'd like to ask: If you were forced to write the plot of season 3 using this version of kevin, how would you work with this concept? how would you try to salvage it, the concept of kevin with his anti-trix?
-
@offbeatcat I don't really know. Again, considering my understanding of Kevin as a character and villain, this wouldn't be a direction that I would go for Kevin. If anything, if I was in that position and Cartoon Network or Man of Action or whoever told me that I have to write Kevin with his own Omnitrix, I say that it's very likely that I would fight back. That I would go up to them and say, "No, this goes against Kevin as a character and villain. This is NOT a direction that we need to go for Kevin. You want me to write Kevin into this show, I'm keeping him the way that he always has been throughout the franchise. I am not going to remove and replace something that fundamentally defined Kevin as a character with something else that doesn't suit and benefit Kevin and you really just want to implement just to sell more merchandise. We can work something out here but this is not a good direction to go for Kevin." Sure, you can chalk this up to my own personal bias (not like folks haven't done that plenty of times before), but overall, I value my standards of quality and the consumers too much to let corporations like Cartoon Network push me around and force me to do things that I don't want to do and that I know it won't benefit the product and its quality overall; especially in the long run.
That goes for just making a Ben 10 show in general. If I was in a position where Cartoon Network wants me to make a Ben 10 show, it certainly wouldn't be this reboot show. If Cartoon Network says otherwise, I'm fighting back because again, I value my standards of quality and pro-consumerism too much to back down and comply.

Well, we got some info on the anti-trix. seems that kevin built this thing, but only because someone put it in his mind, meaning he's a pawn. probably vilgax's. he tampered with the initial design in his own ways, meaning he's something of a mechanic. This means his aliens are stronger then normal, but more mentally unstable. he can't time out, meaning he can last out a fight against ben until he times out. -
@offbeatcat Yep, Kevin built that thing after receiving the blueprints in a dream. The current design is the one he drew after getting the plans through his mind, but he knew enough about technology to modify the way the aliens work and give them "upgrades", making them close to Albedo's OV ultimates.
Also, if you didn't watch the episode yet, the reason why he's after Ben is because... Ben and Kevin are actually classmates, and Kevin has been bullying Ben during fourth grade whenever he had the occasion. In class, during lunch, study hour or even at the bathroom (Ben is scared of public bathrooms because of Kevin).

@offbeatcat Really? You're telling me that some 11 year old kid somehow managed to make a replica of an alien watch? Where did Kevin even get all of the parts and DNA samples to make it? Christ, I thought the autistic kid in the 2018 Predator film was absurd.
-
@tactical-ochoa I thought you where autistic too, and still you bully me (another person thats autistic) and calling another autist for absurd? You are not really autistic, are you?
-
@mortie-10 this has nothing to do with you.
-
Calling it now: Kevin's aliens are all the aliens of this season, plus gax.
-
@mortie-10 I'm bullying you? Really? That's what you're going with here? Don't even.
-
Oooooooh, Ben vs Gax would be amazing! Not only do we have a "pseudo-Vilgax" that way, but Ben would be fighting his favorite 11th alien!
Also, I THINK there's a possible explanation as to how Kevin acquired the samples, though I'll wait for the show to confirm it or prove me wrong:
As we saw in Innervasion, when Ben put a piece of Fulmini armor in a pod, it sampled it and allowed him to become Shock Rock. All he needs was a piece of the alien to turn into said alien's species.
This means that all Kevin has to do, is to look for alien samples on the planet. And considering Ben left QUITE the damage and the bits here and there during his combats, he must've left a fair amount of DNA samples roaming around. Diamondhead, Wildvine, Stinkfly... They all left their marks here and there around the country using their powers. It's possible that Kevin followed Ben's progress around the country and sampled his aliens from Ben's own roster. All I wonder is which ones he didn't sample, and which ones he did beside Cannonbolt (for Wreckingbolt)
