Why Cartoon Network failed
-
Ok we already know why Ben 10 failed. That was because of Omniverse. But the reason why Cartoon Network failed is because they stopped airing their old shows. You heard that right. Thanks to the creation of the new shows, like Adventure Time and Regular Show, Cartoon Network failed. They where nothing like the originals. What is the originals you say: Everything from Dexters lab to Fosters home. Thats the originals. In 2009, Ed Edd n Eddy, the longest airing original show ended, and almost no reruns of any of them since. I dont say they need to make new episodes all the time. But they could aired the old shows in reruns. That could actually have saved the network.

@mortie-10 It was a lot more than just not re-airing old shows. One of the major reasons why Cartoon Network is going down hill is because they keep mistreating their properties and refuse to truly innovate. Their announcement of Thundercats Roar is just another of the many examples that shows this.
As for Ben 10, it was a lot more than just Omniverse that shows why the franchise is also going down hill as well. The Ben 10 franchise had constantly been mistreated by Cartoon Network since the original show ended. The massive success of the original show went from a blessing into a curse. Cartoon Network was more focused on selling more Ben 10 merchandise. There's also the shows themselves. plenty enough of fans and viewers had issues with Alien Force and even more had issues with Ultimate Alien and even more had issues with Omniverse and even more had issues with the reboot show and it was all because of how these shows were made.

Also don't forget of the constant reruns of only the very few shows currently airing the on same network like teen titans go. You could easily find these shows on platforms like Google Play and Hulu not to mention the official On-demand platforms.

@ultraalien Yup, there was also that as well. This can also lead up to another point to address as well and that's the Cartoon Network App. While I don't use the app myself, I've heard many times (and occasionally still do) of people having all sorts of significant issues with the app.
-
@tactical-ochoa There is also some major flaws within the app such as child needs an adult to unlock its full features and doesn't include most of the old original cartoon network shows that had existed not even their old classics to share with new generation of kids.
-
@ultraalien Seriously? An adult is really needed to unlock the full features for an app that's supposed to offer kid-friendly cartoons?
-
@tactical-ochoa Yep you need to unlock it with the login with a cable operator or satellite provider. In other words to unlock the features of the app you need your pay tv credentials.
-
@ultraalien Seriously? You need to provide a cable operator/satellite provider for a streaming app? What features do you unlock from this?
-
@tactical-ochoa Yes many of the episodes of their shows on the app are locked if you don't have pay tv credentials to login.
-
@ultraalien Wow.
