Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot Part 3: Show/Episode Discussions
-
@james That's likely to happen. The Powerpuff Girls reboot aired the 21st episode on June 23rd, 2016 and then didn't air another episode till September 1st, 2016.
-
I think considering the schedule we have, we might go on hiatus after these two episodes.
At least that's what I'm assuming? -
So I checked the schedule for the episodes of the Ben 10 reboot on Wikipedia and apparently the next two episodes did air in the UK already on December 3rd and 4th. Maybe we'll get those episodes soon this week after all. Maybe.
Also, on an additional note, I just discovered that Wikipedia has added the Critical Response section for the show. As quoted on the Ben 10 reboot Wikipedia page:
The reboot has received mostly negative reviews by critics and audiences alike. Criticism went to the reinventation of the titular character, childish tone, animation, lack of logic and lack of story arc.
I wish that Wikipedia would further expand on this, because it's not much and is pretty vague, but it's likely that they will later on. Yes, I understand that Wikipedia isn't the best source for information but I've seen the overall reception myself and this is pretty damn accurate. It does pretty much sum up the overall reception in a simple way.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_10_(2016_TV_series)
I'm curious about the reception internationally though. I've been having trouble looking up the ratings of the Ben 10 reboot from other countries such as the UK, Germany, Australia, etc.

Huh Wait, Vilgax is returning?
Look at the Cast.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_10_(2016_TV_series) -
@Ben-10-Fan Yeah, I don't know what's the deal with that. I'm skeptical about it. A while back I believe that page listed voice actors that were obviously not in the reboot voicing their respective characters. Like I said, Wikipedia isn't the best source for information as at least some of it could be incorrect and anyone could just go in and edit whatever they want to edit. Until Vilgax makes an actual appearance in this show, IF he even does, I'm taking in that one bit of info with a grain of salt.
-
@Tactical-Ochoa I believe that he will I mean a ben10 show isnt a ben10 show without vilgax he has appeared in every ben10 series so it would be next to impossible for him not not appear
-
@JrPhilgene True. Then again, today's Cartoon Network is today's Cartoon Network. It's likely that either Vilgax won't make an appearance in the reboot after all or he will but considering everything that the Ben 10 reboot offered, the team working on this reboot will most likely screw him up. I honestly would rather not have Vilgax in this reboot because of the latter possible outcome and he deserves a better Ben 10 show to be in. That's just me though.

Can't wait to see the reboot's Brazilian dub to see if they are going to keep the original franchise's voice actors, like CN does to most reboots, or recast every single voice actor, like they did with Powerpuff Girls.
-
reboot will return in March 2017 as I said, the Russian division of cartoon network this is most likely associated with the early release of the episodes in the USA so we will wait for them to tell the name of the episodes 21 through 40, a little later, I'll keep you posted

Say when the new Ben 10 episodes "Cutting Corners" and "Don't let the bass drop" are gonna show this weekend or not?

@james Lol. I was just about to post the links to the episodes from watchcartoononline.com.
I saw Cutting Corners so far. It was pretty stupid.
Edit: Don't Let the Bass Drop was pretty stupid as well.

Holy crap. I checked the IMDB rating for the Ben 10 reboot and it's down to a 2.2/10 with 100 votes. A few hours ago, the rating was a 2.8/10 with 96 or 97 votes. Yeah I know, a 0.6 point difference isn't much but I didn't expect it to drop that fast in such a short amount of time and with such few people within that amount of time considering just how long it took for the rating to get down to a 2.8/10 in general and I believe the reboot started off with a 4.2/10 on IMDB when it first premiered.
-
It really saddens me to see what this reboot is becoming
-
What scares me is this could kill the Ben 10 franchise as a whole, I don't want to see this series die, I hope if this reboot gets cancelled that they will revive it for fans instead and have the Legend of Korra and Voltron team take over.
-
I think they'll ignore the North American ratings and renew the reboot based off other continents' ratings. I saw somewhere that the series is much more popular in other countries. Besides, online rating isn't very important to most TV channels. And remember: There are people who actually like the reboot, they're the ones that will make it survive!
-
@GoodVibes1999 Maybe, but look what happened to Omniverse, the way they treated that show was so bad and showing it in 6 in the morning, I think the reboot will suffer the same fate to be honest, but I hope not and hope it gets better.
-
Honestly, I'm not hating on the Reboot, but more concerned by it right now, it seems like it's trying to hard to be funny and nothing interesting has happened in this series, I feel that it's still a chance for this to get better, but still seems to not want to get better.
-
@GoodVibes1999 Yes, the Ben 10 franchise is more popular internationally than in the US (granted, people that are saying that are comparing one country to, oh, the rest of the world). However, that doesn't mean that Ben 10 had been met with success recently. Yes, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse were still successful but that was the point were the franchise really REALLY started to go downhill and when people really REALLY started to have a problem with the way at which Cartoon Network treated the franchise. Ultimate Alien did very poorly in toy sales and Omniverse ended up having so poor viewer ratings and toy sales in general that Cartoon Network aired the show everyday in the morning in order to rush out the remaining seasons so that they could write the show off for taxes. There's the saying, "If you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it." Cartoon Network clearly hasn't learned from their mistakes because here we go again with the Ben 10 reboot, a show made solely for selling toys and merchandise; a show made because Cartoon Network is greedy. It's most likely that history will once again repeat itself.
And remember, there are a lot of people that do like Omniverse and yet Omniverse still ended up having poor viewer ratings and poor toy sales. Also, those that do like the Ben 10 reboot are in the minority. Those that don't like the reboot are in the majority. The minority most likely can't make this reboot survive if they are out-shined and outspoken by the majority so don't get your hopes up on that.
@Rexfan1333 More often than not, you don't get a show like the Ben 10 reboot in such poor quality from a team that is legitimately caring, respectful, excited, and interested in making it. I remember taking with @admin a while back and he mentioned how his friend from Cartoon Network Studios mentioned how there were plenty of people that were working on the Ben 10 reboot that were not happy about how the Ben 10 reboot was turning out as. If the team that's working on the Ben 10 reboot really do legitimately care about the Ben 10 reboot, this isn't what we would've got as a final product. We would've got a much better show if it was from a team that really put in a lot of care, effort, and respect into it. We would've got a much better show from a team that valued artistic integrity over greed and money. The behind-the-scenes preview clip that we saw a while back, it looked like the team was excited about making this reboot. However, after seeing how the Ben 10 reboot turned out in quality, I'm questioning as to whether or not that excitement we saw from that preview clip was actually legitimate. Previews, trailers, and promo clips can be misleading after all and there's definitely a good possibility that they were just acting it out and I'd say that that's most likely the case.
Unless the team working on the Ben 10 reboot decide to put in a lot of care, effort, and respect into the show, I'm not seeing it getting better in the future. The reboot might not even get pass the first season considering the reception that it's getting. If it does get pass the first season and gets renewed for a second season, then that's the chance that the team has to turn things around and for the better but if they screw up the second season, then there's a good chance that it's over for the Ben 10 reboot. Maybe not the franchise as a whole but definitely the reboot show itself.
