Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot Part 2
-
Doesn't really bother because if it is a meteor that contained the omnitrix it would have had to come from somewhere
-
@Tactical-Ochoa yes I saw that I am not dumb.
I meant how do we know the pod isn't just disguised as a meteorite. Don't get all sarcastic with me tactial.
I don't really care either because as stated before me it had to come from somewhere. You do realize most comic book heroes get their powers by accident (the flash, spiderman, etc so if this is just a accident then I really wouldn't care. It doesn't matter how he got his powers it's what he does with it as Ben 10 that matters -
@Omni-Triforcer you make a good point as I said before it would have to had come from somewhere because the omnitrix just being in a meteor without someone putting it there just doesn't make sense
-
@JrPhilgene Of course it came from somewhere and I hope that they cover that much like they did in the OS. I'm referring to more of the set up for the show. The introduction. For what was done in a way that the first episode of the OS set the rest of the series up on. The OS introduced the everything by showing a space battle where we get introduced to Vilgax and get a good understanding as to the type of villain that he is while the Omnitrix gets sent to Earth to avoid falling into Vilgax's hands. In the reboot, the Omnitrix just arrives on Earth. That's apparently it.
@Omni-Triforcer It's not just most comic book heroes. It's most of pretty much any story. Most story plots are introduced by "just so happens" moments. An alien disguised as a dog being chased by Norwegians in a helicopter in Antarctica just so happens to come across an American research outpost. Luke Skywalker just so happens to come across a droid with the blueprints to the Death Star. A special police unit being chased by zombie dogs just so happens to find a top secret Umbrella research mansion to take refuge in. Etc. What's more important however is the set up and introduction for all of that. To build up mystery. To catch the attention and curiosity of the viewers so that they can get interested and invested in following the story and learn more about it. How Ben gets the Omnitrix does matter because it's a plot point designed for the purpose of what I just mentioned. If you don't have a good set up and introduction to the story, then that's one good way of screwing up your show's first impressions and first impressions are very important here.
The OS introduced and built up the story by showing a space battle. Vilgax is introduced as the main villain and you could just tell how menacing of a villain that he is in that scene. Xylene's ship launches the Omnitrix to Earth where it ends up in Ben's hands. There's a lot of mystery that builds up on that and it's what gets viewers interested and invested into the story. How does the reboot introduce the story? A meteor just simply lands on Earth and it has the Omnitrix inside of it and that's it apparently. That's not much to get people interested and invested into the story. Likely not even enough; especially when compared to the introduction to the OS. Where did the Omnitrix come from and how and why it ended up on Earth is the only mystery, which is not much to get viewers interested in the story.
In fact, I believe that's really all that can be answered from this. Again, the way that the reboot introduced the story doesn't have a lot of mystery to it. Those are the only questions as far as I can tell. Where did the Omnitrix come from? How and why did it end up on Earth? Doesn't really build up a lot for the story. What questions did the OS bring in the introduction? Many with a strong interest in having those questions answered. Where did the Omnitrix come from? Who was Vilgax? Why did the Omnitrix suddenly change direction and land where Ben was at? Who was transporting the Omnitrix? Why does Vilgax want the Omnitrix? What is the Omnitrix? Etc etc etc. That last question could apply to the reboot as well but here's the thing. There's going to be more Ben 10 fans watching this reboot than those that are new to the series; especially since that the new generation of kids already got introduced to the Ben 10 series.
Overall, the set up for Ben getting the Omnitrix does matter because it's supposed to build up viewers' interest into the story. To get viewers captivated into the show. To help gain a good first impression, which is again something that really any show can't screw up on because having bad first impressions can be enough to bring this series down.

I think they should as well,
I dont know about ben and gwens parents since they are on a road trip they wont be going home. -
with me I think they should have xylene in the reboot and also I hope verdona wont be in it and if they mention her they just say shes dead so they don't have the anodite crap in the show
-
I just realized gwens voice reminds me of the person who voices Dani Phantom on Danny Phantom, I don't think it is her but just thought id point that out.
Either way i guess we will find out in 8 days. -

@Rexfan1333 with me I did not really like the 2012 TMNT I like the 2003 TMNT because of how they had the shredder because to me he looked like he was sick because of the purple spots on his skin
-
@KorseBLI-ND at least you have a reason for not liking it I hate tmnt 2012 for no reason whatsoever the show itself is good but to me it just doesn't feel like how a tmnt show should be
-
@JrPhilgene Then you do have a reason for hating the TMNT 2012 show. You provided that very reason at the end of your comment. Just saying.
-
also I really did not like a underage april oneil
