Addressing the Ben 10 Reboot Part 2
-
@Ebomnitrix More like less to me. Max was definitely very much human in the OS but he had such a bizarre personality and interest in so many things that makes him more unique, memorable, and funny (such as his taste in certain "foods"). This Max in the reboot seems more like the generic weird grandfather and that seems to be it so far.
Ben does look a little uncomfortable with Zombozo though. I wouldn't be surprised if Ben doesn't have his fear of clowns though, which would be pretty disappointing.
And that's good that the clip got re-uploaded. I guess the YouTuber wanted to have it up in better quality or something.
-
@Tactical-Ochoa it looks like Ben does have his fear of clowns but it isn't as bad as it was in the os
-
OH GOD THOSE PUNS....
THEY WERE TOO TERRIFIC!

That Fourarms part was really funny and its cool to see Sumo Slammers back.
-
@Ben-10-Fan I loved the four arms one
-
@JrPhilgene Which again would be a shame if it's not as prominent or not even in the reboot at all. In the OS, Ben's phobia towards clowns is what gave him such a great, character developing challenge when going up against Zombozo. If Ben is going to just fight Zombozo much like any other villain in the reboot, it's not going to leave much of a lasting impact on viewers, if not none at all.
@Ebomnitrix More like too outdated. All these pop culture references and memes that are in the reboot isn't going to benefit it; especially if they get outdated. The PPG reboot suffered, and still is suffering, from this. It's like what Pan-Pizza from RebelTaxi said in his review of the PPG reboot. The more you modernize a show, the more stale and outdated it will become at a faster rate. I don't want memes. I don't want pop culture references. I want the comedy in the reboot to be done in a clever, subtle, and unique way and that's something that any viewer would want and prefer more of for comedy than this.
-
-
@Tactical-Ochoa All I'm really seeing that is modern so far, is Ben using a phone to record himself, making YouTube videos, which people have done for more than a decade now, but you are right though, that could get outdated at some point.
Other than that, I haven't really seen... anything... happen... in terms of being modern. -
@Tactical-Ochoa I'm fine with the comedy if it's like this but if Ben dabs in a episode or Gwen twerks imma lose it
-
@Ebomnitrix The puns in the "24hrs" clip. The Dancing with the Stars reference with Diamondhead. I bet that there's going to be much more later on as well.
-
@Tactical-Ochoa Hasn't Dancing With The Stars been on for years though, like almost decades, or am I thinking something else? And the puns are just puns in general.
-
@Ebomnitrix Well that was a really stupid video. Really glad that Gwen is being the type of character she's supposed to be and is keeping Ben in line so that he could stop those robbers. (sarcasm)
-
I heard that the whole dancing with diamond head thing were supposed to be part of these short clips call bentuition and not part of an actual episode I could be wrong though
-
-
@Ebomnitrix I don't even bother with Dancing With the Stars. First time I've heard of that show in a while. I don't think there's even much that's going on with that show anymore. Also, making videos for YouTube wasn't as big and prominent back them as it is now. Even going so far to the point that making videos on YouTube has now become a job and livelihood for many.
-
Like to see Ben 10 clip of Galvin Road Trip soon
-
There is no clip... Read the other topic I mentioned this in, I said I was thinking on making a fanfic based on that mentioning in the Omniverse finale...
-
Oh yeah, the same can go for Ben in the "Take 10" clip as well. That's really how they're going to treat Ben as a character as well. Ben had always valued doing his heroic deeds more than anything else. Wants an ultra rare Sumo Slammer card, decides to go and stop Dr. Animo and save people's lives instead. Fearful of clowns, decides to fight his fears to save Gwen. He even had some really good and strong morals in the OS. This clip from "Take 10," the writers decide instead too toss all of that out of the window for both Ben and Gwen, and thus degrading their quality as characters and making them more unlikable than they're supposed to be. Instead of implementing these two characters and the type of characters that they're supposed to be (and that's being heroes), this is what the writers do instead in that episode.
-
Well remember, this is a Reboot, they'll probably learn it sooner or later, that and when the show was starting, Ben cared about a Sumo Slammer card more than stopping Dr. Animo until he learned a lesson from it. Ben will eventually learn to be a true hero later down the road, but remember we're starting from scratch, Ben's character is gonna be starting from 0, so he has to relearn all that. In the middle-later ladder, Ben will take his hero approach probably a little more serious as the show progresses on, all he knows is he wants to protect people by using his aliens, but he's also going to be selfish and dumb about how he uses powers.
@Tactical-Ochoa -
@Ebomnitrix Even through what you described, Ben still showed some good strong traits and morals of being a hero. Not only that but there's also Gwen to take note of as well. This is not how Gwen should be either. She's supposed to be there to balance Ben out and keep him in line and focused and help him be a better hero. Not reinforce his behavior and act so out of character like this, even if this is a reboot.
