My Ben 10 Video Game Idea

I think I mentioned pretty much everything I want to share about my game idea. There might be more ideas to come out sometime later but not for a while. All that's left really is to just think up a name for my Ben 10 video game idea. If by some chance I ever find myself actually making this game, I was thinking of giving the title for my Ben 10 video game idea, Ben 10: OmniHero or something of the likes. That should be a good enough title for my Ben 10 video game idea.

@Omni-Triforcer Well, programming games is a different story. I don't know much about programming and I only had one semester in Intro to Computer Programming in college. Very basic. Game designing is different though. The most basic and simplest way to explain game design is to just take a piece of paper and a pencil and get to work. Game design is more of making a blueprint of ideas and working with producers and programmers to turn that blueprint into an actual game. That is what I'm more interested in doing as a career.

There's many other ideas for games that I have that I would just love to have made. I just need production and programming teams to work with. This Ben 10 game is a definite and obvious example of one of my many ideas.
Other than that, yeah I would love to become a game designer in the future and I would also love to have a chance to get this game made for gamers and Ben 10 fans to enjoy playing.

@Omni-Triforcer It might be the Ben 10 game that most, if not every fan, wants. There is a chance that it can happen though. I would like to pitch it to Cartoon Network but I don't feel comfortable enough to do that yet because of how Cartoon Network currently is at the moment. Maybe soon though. As for Man of Action, I would love to pitch this game idea to them to see what they at least personally think about it. Either way, there is a chance that this game can happen. That link that I posted does state that game design involves a lot of trying to convince publishers and teams to approve on the ideas that people create. If I can convince Cartoon Network and Man of Action to get this game created and to have Platinum Games be involved in the production and programming of it, then this game can very much happen.
In fact, here's a couple quick questions here for anyone reading this page to think about. Would anyone like to see this game actually be made? Should I pitch this to Man of Action and Cartoon Network? If you want to explain your reasons why, feel free to do so.

i would love to see this game made obviously and i think with a good team of people it could get made. Even if someone makes a game like that fanmade and its not official i would still love to see it

@Omni-Triforcer Yeah, that's why I would like for Platinum Games to make this game. I believe that they're the right choice to make a game like this considering their past works. When I get a chance, I think I'll tweet this page to Man of Action and at the very least see what they're personal opinions on this idea is, if they can read this page.

I recently thought about something that could be used for the story aspect of Ben 10 OmniHero. I mentioned on my first post here how an aspect of the story could be that Ben and Gwen would be hunted down by mercenaries and bounty hunters and this is just a maybe but could still be a significant part of the story of my video game idea. Well, here's something that would be even better. For my Ben 10 OmniHero video game idea, the story could focus on Ben's transition into Ben 10,000. To portray the events that could lead up to Ben becoming the Ben 10,000 that we saw in the Original Series before Ben and Gwen's arrival in the future. To lead up to the tragic event that led Ben into becoming the very person that he disliked when he first met his future self. The cold and serious Ben 10,000. I find this approach for a story for my video game idea to have quite a lot of potential to be great for Ben 10 fans and gamers to experience. If anyone has any thoughts and opinions on that, feel free to leave a comment on this page.

To go into further detail with the story to my Ben 10 OmniHero video game idea, the game's main story would progressively build up the moment where Ben would eventually become Ben 10,000 as players progress through the main story missions. With mercenaries and bounty hunters continuously hunting down Ben and Gwen, the duo would try to solve the mystery of who placed a bounty on them. Eventually, they would find who placed the bounty. Certain aspects, elements, and moments in the story could further push Ben into becoming the very person that he doesn't want to become while Ben would try his best to avoid the future where, despite being a great hero, he would become a cold and serious hero that distanced himself from who he truly is as well as distanced himself from the very people that he cares about deeply. For example, in the game, Azmuth would finally see Ben worthy and responsible enough to have the Master Control but Ben would refuse to have it since that Ben 10,000 had the Master Control with his Omnitrix and Ben would deny having a feature like this as part of his efforts to avoid becoming someone that he doesn't want to become. However, all that build up in the story would finally reach the breaking point where something does happen that prompts Ben to become Ben 10,000. Something tragic such as maybe Gwen becoming severely injured during a battle with Vilgax and/or Kevin, which would finally push Ben into accepting the Master Control from Azmuth and becoming Ben 10,000.
By the way, as I stated before a while back, this game would only involve the canonicity of the Original Series at the moment. Maybe I could also involve the Ben 10 Hero Generation show that Man of Action never got a chance to make and the Ben 10 fan fiction stories that shadows59 of FanFiction.net wrote, whose link to the writer's page that I've left in an earlier post on this page. Some aspects of Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, and even Omniverse I could include into this game if I find them to be great and/or have a lot of potential. Other than that, at least most of what's in the sequels that Cartoon Network made would not be in my video game idea.

There was something that I realized that I haven't focused a lot of attention on for my Ben 10 video game idea and that's Gwen. I've discussed a lot about Ben but not that much on Gwen such as her limitations with her magic abilities. So here I go.
As I stated before, for my video game idea, I would rather maintain the canonicity of the Original Series and not the sequel shows. Therefore, again, Gwen is fully human here and her powers would be magic based.
Let's go further into Gwen's abilities. Gwen would be able to cast any type of magic and mana ability that she already knows and that players manage to unlock for her through the upgrade system. Gwen would also have a separate meter that would measure the amount of mana that she has left to be able to cast her spells with. Depending on how powerful the spell is will depend on how much of Gwen's mana will be used up. Her mana will also recharge slowly much like Ben's Omnitrix. There are various different spells that Gwen could use but that would be one hell of a list to go over and I would have to think more on which spells I would have Gwen use. Basically, here are a list of spells throughout the entire series to give an idea on how diverse and varied Gwen's magic abilities would be for my video game idea much like how diverse and varied Ben's aliens would be.

I mentioned how an upgrade system for Gwen would involve the creation of Charms of Bezels that Gwen could use to improve her magic abilities. Well, let's bring back the Keystone of Bezel as well. The way that the Keystone of Bezel could work is well in a similar way to how it worked in the show. Since that in the episode "Tough Luck" ended with the Keystone of Bezel being very well drained of mana but still being functional, Gwen would have to supply the Keystone of Bezel with mana in order to get the full benefits of it. When charged enough, Gwen could activate the Keystone and have all of her natural abilities enhanced greatly just like in the show as well as making her magic abilities more powerful. To go into an overcharge-like state basically. This can be signified through the color of her magic aura. Blue would be the standard color of her aura just like in the Original Series. When the Keystone of Bezel is activated, it will change the color of her aura to the pinkish color that Gwen has in the sequels and that Charmcaster has in the Original Series. However, this would only be temporary and once all the mana is used up, the Keystone would deactivate and Gwen would have to recharge it again in order to use it again.
Much like how players can upgrade Gwen by unlocking more spells for her to use, she can also be upgraded to increase the capacity and recharge rate of her mana meter as well as decrease the amount of mana that each spell would use up as well as any other possible upgrades that could be made. There can also be upgrades to increase the power and effectiveness of Gwen's magic abilities. The Keystone of Bezel can also be upgraded to increase the effect that it provides to Gwen as well as also allowing other features such as a slower drain of the Keystone's mana storage and anything else that can increase Gwen's capabilities in combat without giving her too much power.
There are limitations to Gwen's magic and mana abilities, however, for the purpose of balance and challenging players, much like Ben with his Omnitrix. Like with Ben upgrading the Omnitrix, if Gwen doesn't have high enough skills to upgrade her magic abilities and unlock new spells, then there could be a chance that trying to upgrade her abilities could cause a side effect that can be either minor or dangerous for her and Ben. The same can go for a certain spell that Gwen managed to unlock but doesn't have enough skills to utilize it. Then there's using the spells themselves. If Gwen uses up too much of her mana when casting spells, then this could leave Gwen in an exhausted state and thus leave her vulnerable in battle. When exhausted, Gwen's natural abilities would be decreased. Her speed, strength, mobility, etc would be temporarily lowered and Gwen would be less capable of fighting her enemies, leaving her open to enemy attacks. This state of exhaustion would end once her mana recharges back up enough. With this feature, it will emphasize the importance of managing Gwen's mana and magic use during combat and exploration.
To counter the exhaustion state, players would have to recover the mana that Gwen used to cast spells. Again, her mana can recharge back slowly and upgrades can increase the capacity and recharge rate of her mana as well as decrease the cost of mana for each of Gwen's spells. Other ways that players can regain mana could involve certain Charms or capsules or something that Gwen can use to provide a quick replenishment of her mana. Players could also gain mana off of their enemies. Gwen could gain the ability to absorb mana from her enemies to refill her mana meter. Either players could absorb mana from enemies just enough to recharge some of Gwen's mana meter and Keystone of Bezel while also leaving enemies exhausted themselves and thus neutralize them in a non-lethal way or players could absorb all of the mana off of enemies and give Gwen a lot of mana to recharge her meter and Keystone but would result in those very enemies who were completely drained of their mana to die. This would factor into Ben's psychological and mental health and condition due to him witnessing Gwen killing enemies through absorbing their mana much like how other ways of killing enemies would also damage Ben's psychological and mental health and condition. There could be other methods for Gwen to regain her mana and avoid exhaustion but that's what I got so far at the moment.
As a quick note, since that part of upgrading Gwen's magic abilities could involve unlocking new spells for Gwen to use, the same can go with Ben and his Omnitrix where players can unlock new aliens for Ben to use through the upgrade system. Also, depending on how enemies are killed in the game could have different amounts of effects to Ben's psychological and mental health. More quick, painless, and/or merciful kills on enemies will have little impacts on Ben's psychological and mental health and condition. However, more painful, slower, and/or agonizing kills on enemies will have a much greater impact on Ben as well.

@Omni-Triforcer I think I've discussed everything that I wanted to talk about for my Ben 10 video game idea. There's likely going to be more features that I would probably discuss later on but yeah, I've pretty much covered everything. I'm currently trying to contact PlatinumGames to see if they're willing to give some advice and tips to help me further prepare for pitching this game to Cartoon Network. I provided a short and basic summary of this game to them. So far, I haven't got a response back for at least a week. I'll try again in a bit. One thing that I know is that if I'm going to go work with PlatinumGames on this Ben 10 game, I would have to learn Japanese to be able to communicate with the game developers and programmers there since that PlatinumGames is stationed in Japan. Other than that, as far as I know, that's the only obstacle that I'm facing. That is unless I didn't miss anything else. Again, I'll try contacting them again in a bit.

So, while I'm trying to contact PlatinumGames about my video game idea, Ben 10 OmniHero, and waiting for PlatinumGames to respond back on it, I thought that I would discuss which video games publisher I would find suitable and/or not suitable to publish this game.
Let's start with the companies that are definitely a "no" for publishing this game. Konami is obviously a no because...well, do I even have to explain why? It's simple. Konami is just one of the worst companies ever and definitely the worse company in the gaming industry. Just taking a look at what they've done in recent years shows why. Konami is a no.
Activision is also a definite no. The Call of Duty series has really gone under in recent years and I haven't even touched a single Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2. Activision focuses more on milking their best video game series's out till their completely dry as well as being more focused on making licensed games just to cash in on the popularity of the licensed works. The last game by Activision that was actually good was Transformers Devastation, which was made by PlatinumGames and PlatinumGames is also making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game that is also being published by Activision. Yes, that looks good but PlatinumGames also made The Legend of Korra game published by Activision and that game wasn't really considered by many to be as good as their other works. Either way, Activision is a no.
What about EA? Hell no. Would I really want any of my game ideas to be published by a company that was marked as "Worst Company in America" two years in a row? Plus, there's all the other issues from EA such as the overly priced Season Passes that they advertise and EA's latest game, Star Wars Battlefront, being considered by many as absolute crap. EA is a no.
How about Bethesda? My Ben 10 video game idea has an open world focus to it and Bethesda had made and published some of the best open world games out there. Would they be a good choice? Well, unless I want this game to be an absolute glitchy mess, I'm going to pass on Bethesda. Bethesda is a no at the moment.
Square Enix? No. Again, recent history had me think otherwise. Most notably with their shady business practices such as the new and upcoming Deus Ex Mankind Divided game having a controversial pre-order system that was fortunately cancelled as a result of negative responses and the episodic approach that Square Enix is taking with some of their new games such as the upcoming 2016 Hitman. Square Enix is a no.
Capcom? Maybe. Capcom has had some shady business practices such as on-disk DLC being sold but recently, I've heard that Capcom has been improving bit by bit. Listening to their fans and customers and focusing more on making what the gamers want out of Capcom's games (Resident Evil being an example of this). Right now, I think Capcom is one of my best choices and recommendation to publish this Ben 10 game.
What about Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo? Well, I'd rather not have this game be exclusive to a specific platform. I'd rather want this game to be released on Xbox One, PS4, maybe the WiiU, and on PC as I would want for this game to cover many different gaming platforms so that many gamers that play on these platforms can have a chance to play this game. However, if I were to chose between these three companies, I would most likely pick Sony since that they do release some great PlayStation exclusive games.
Finally, I'm going to discuss the company that I believe would most likely be the ones that would end up publishing this game if it does get accepted by PlatinumGames and does get green lit by Cartoon Network and that's Warner Bros. Games. The thing is that Cartoon Network and WB Games are both under the same umbrella and that's the Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Here is my problem with WB Games and that's their treatment of PC ports for some of their games. In Batman Arkham Origins, there were many technical issues that the game faced yet WB Games publicly stated that they would not focus on fixing those issues because they rather prioritize making DLC content over fixing the issues with that very game that many gamers experienced. Batman Arkham Knight and Mortal Kombat X also had terrible PC launches and, like with Batman Arkham Origins, WB Games rather focus more on DLC than fixing those issues. They didn't even bother supporting the PC version of Mortal Kombat X anymore and WB Games would rather release the Mortal Kombat XL bundle game on consoles only. The cause behind these terrible PC launches for those very games is that WB Games had different and terribly picked teams of developers work on the PC port versions instead of the original developer team. If PlatinumGames does decide to take interest in making my Ben 10 video game idea, gets green lit by Cartoon Network, and is sent over to WB Games for publishing, then I would have to make sure that PlatinumGames make every platform version of this game and that each platform version gets equal support because I'd rather not have WB Games treat this game the same way that they treated Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight, and Mortal Kombat X.
On a further note, for the game itself, I was thinking of having somewhere around 10 planets for gamers to explore with maybe possibly more being added through updates and maybe some DLC content. As for the actual size of the area of exploration, that one is a little bit more tricky. I was thinking of having a range of 2 to 7 square miles for each area of exploration for each planet to have. Basically, the minimum size for each planet would be somewhere around the size of Batman Arkham Knight while the maximum size for each planet would be around the size of Afghanistan in Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain. I'm not entirely sure of this map size range though as it would probably be open for discussion for a bit before I figure out what the appropriate map size for each planet would be but this is the range that I'm most comfortable with here.
