  • @Rexfan1333 Nope. My comments, my thoughts, my arguments, my opinions, my choice on what I want to say and it's everyone's choice on whether or not they want to read my comments and opinions. People want to be excited about the Ben 10 reboot, that's their choice. It's my choice that I want to make the argument that the Ben 10 reboot will not turn out to be good and to convince people of that very argument. It was your choice that you decided to read my comments and feel bummed out about the Ben 10 reboot. Once again, no, I'm not going to stop. You want me to stop, prove to me that I'm wrong and that the Ben 10 reboot will turn out to be good. Get into a debate with me over this. Otherwise, I'm not going to stop just because it makes you and anyone else "bummed out." I'm not going to stop just because you and anyone else want to be excited for the Ben 10 reboot.

    @Tactical-Ochoa Okay, but it's just gonna annoy people, but no matter what you say will not change the reboot in any way.

    @Rexfan1333 Like I said, I'm no longer trying to make changes. I'm just making predictions and arguments on the Ben 10 reboot and convincing others of those predictions and arguments.

  • @Omni-Triforcer I like the Ben 10 reboot design of Grandpa Max. By the way are we gonna see cartoon scenes of Grandpa Max shirtless?

  • Holy crap, I just noticed something from the full version of the Annecy preview clip of the Ben 10 reboot. Steven T. Seagle states this, "We're starting clean, Ben is 10-years-old, he's on an eternal summer vacation with his grandpa Max and his cousin Gwen, he's found a watch, he turns into 10 aliens, and that's all we have to worry about this time around." Ok so first off I don't find this a good way of describing the reboot. Yes it's supposed to mean that they're starting all over because this is labeled as a reboot but it also gives this feeling that there's not going to be much of a focus on a good, strong complex, and well written story and characters. What really caught my attention though is that Seagle says "he's on an eternal summer vacation." Eternal as in lasting forever. I really hope that that's just poor word choice because if this turns out to be the case, then they're going to be taking a at least 3 month long summer road trip and make it last forever. That each episode is just going to be about Ben, Gwen, and Max going from place to place and doing stuff. That there's going to be little to no progression in regards to story and characters. That it is most likely that we won't be seeing the characters grow up and develop throughout the years and that Ben and Gwen are just going to stay as their 10-year-old selves. Again, I hope this is not the case and that this is just poor word choice because that is definitely not what I want to see in this series.

    @Tactical-Ochoa I hope it's poor wording as well, I'm scared they will make Ben and Gwen the new Bart and Lisa where they never grow up. Honestly teen Ben needs to appear again, having Ben be another Ash Ketchem where he stays a kid and having the same voice actress for years is not good in my opinion.

    @Rexfan1333 Something tells me that it's not poor word choice and that this is going to happen this way. If it is the case that the reboot will focus on an eternal summer vacation, then what Steven T. Seagle described about the reboot is most, if not all, of everything that we're going to get. That what Seagle described is the Ben 10 reboot in a nutshell. That what he described is all the reboot is offering.

    This is a video that the Ben 10 Club posted on YouTube showing Joe Kelly and Duncan Rouleau stating that they wanted to go further into Ben 10,000. Stating what sounds like they want to make a sequel. A continuation to the Ben 10 story. The reboot is the opposite of that. And this is the show that many claim that Man of Action wants to make. I call bullshit on that.

    @Tactical-Ochoa I think it's just poor wording, I'm pretty sure they won't let that happen.

    @Rexfan1333 You'd be surprised.

  • I just watched the preview again and noticed that someone said we are turning up the comedy this time. My reaction: Oh boy, that doesn't sound good.

    I feel like this time around there won't be much character development for the villains. I feel as if there is going to be a new villain almost every episode which would mean that we are never going to have story arcs anymore.

  • Oh and alongside the comparison in regards to the context, at least in regards to the design of the aliens, Ben's aliens in the Ben 10 reboot do look similarly like the aliens in Super Alien Hero Buddy Adventures in regards to the design and quality.

  • I don't see any similarities

    @csgt I do agree with you on Charmcaster's UAF design. Granted, as shown in the quote that you're using to respond to, that's not the point that I'm addressing here. I'm not stating that Charmcaster's UAF design looks unique overall. I'm stating that it looks better and more unique than Charmcaster's reboot design. Even though her UAF design isn't really unique on its own, is most certainly not a design that I like and favor, and doesn't even hold a candle to Charmcaster's OS design, it is a better and more visually unique design when compared to Charmcaster's reboot design, which, again, looks very much like a typical and generic Goth girl. Considering how they've handled the Ben 10 reboot so far, I doubt that they're going to make a connection between Hex and Charmcaster in the reboot. Her first name being Hope and the concept of Ledgerdomain itself are pretty much the only things related to Charmcaster in UAF that I liked. Ledgerdomain does have some nice potential and Hope sounds pretty ironic considering what Charmcaster went through with Hex before the events of the Original Series. Everything else with Charmcaster in UAF is stuff that I don't like. I most especially don't like how they handled her relationship with Hex in UAF though given that it very much conflicts with what was established with them in the OS. Granted, you do make a good point. Charmcaster, and Hex, were terribly handled and written in the sequel shows. However, when it came down to Charmcaster as a character, I really only compared the reboot Charmcaster to the OS Charmcaster because yeah, Charmcaster went through a pretty severe downgrade in the sequel shows and Charmcaster was at her best in the OS. I do have an interest in making an article about Charmcaster and analyzing her as a character, much like how I did with other characters such as Julie Yamamoto and Professor Paradox. I know for sure that this Charmcaster article is going to address the points about her in UAF that you made here.

    After some thinking, I realized something that I forgot to mention. On its own and when compared to the Original Series episode, Last Laugh (considering that both episodes use the same story premise in regards to Ben dealing with his own fears), The Clocktopus is still not a good episode. It still suffers from poor writing and I mentioned other aspects of this episode that also holds it back. However, when compared to other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot show, it is a better episode. Despite the problems that I have with Steam Smythe, I still like the theme of his character and he is at least a better villain than the other villains that were showcased in the reboot. He's just an annoying villain much like with the Weatherheads and, at least to me, the writers just exaggerated a little too much to him or something of the likes. Like I said, there was some potential with this villain. Like I also said before, at least Ben's fear of squids does give him some struggle with fighting Steam Smythe and thus helps to make the conflict a little more challenging. So yeah, even though I find that the episode still had some really poor writing and the episode itself is still not good, it is better than the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot. However, considering the quality of the other episodes of the Ben 10 reboot, that's not saying much. At best this episode is just average.
