Season 1 Finale Discussion

I'm sure getting yuri for vilgax was just a callback.
-
@Omni-Triforcer I have a tendency to make my opinions seem like fact? You guys seem to have a tendency to get all up in arms whenever I express an opinion that you don't like. You like Yuri's performance as Vilgax; I don't. Agree to disagree and leave it to that if you don't want to get into an argument with me.
-
Does Bens dependence on Gax remind anyone else of Feedback? Its also a coincidence that they were both removed from the Omnitrix. Also funnily enough they were both voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.
-
Yep and It became more clear when ben run off in angry.
-
Im just happy they didnt do what they did with the rest of the OS villians and have Ben had already met Vilgax. That wouldve been very disappointing. Im glad they let us experience their first encounter.
-
Really amazing episodes and is giving high hopes for season 2 and beyond, I'm hoping Tetrax will be Ben's mentor again like in OS, hate that they forgot about him in the sequels, so happy to see Ben get a challenge for once and realize that being a hero can be a serious task.
Proves MOA can really do cool dramatic episodes than funny episodes so I hope they will learn their lesson.
-
@Tactical-Ochoa I agree with some what, but the episodes was amazing, it had drama, action, and character development. Everything that OS kinda lacked at times (I'm hoping Ben will become more humble about his powers and learn from them), but I do understand that it did have it's flaws, but man it proved to be the best Ben 10 episode in a long time since and then there was Ben and was none.
I also liked Yuri's take, he's no Steve Blum, but he did pretty good.
-
When it comes down too it, the only (small) problem I had with this season finale was that they didn't do anything with Max's plumber background. Sure I bet they'll do something with it but there was more background in the arch rivalry between Ben and Vilgax when Max also had encounters with Vilgax during his plumber days. Vilgax and Max acted like they've never even seen each other before nor were there any hints giving Max's past life. But whatever that's just my personal take on the subject.
-
@Omni-Triforcer Dude shut up, this whole discussion is literally for discussing our opinions. He has just the amount of right as you to talk about this as proudly as he wants.
-
@Jambamthankyou Thank you.
-
@Jambamthankyou I don't think Max is going to have a plumber background in the Reboot. He just seems so clueless.
-
@cooljay7 I honestly don't mind him not having his Plumber background in the reboot, it's a shame though if they don't add it in, but it's still a possibility he's still playing dumb though.
-
@cooljay7 Like I said in my review, I think they're going to establish Max as an inventor and not a retired Plumber like in the beta version of the Original Series.

What would having Max be an inventor do for the show? In my opinion thats way less interesting then him being a retired space cop, Plus wouldnt they have shown him being an inventor already?
-
@Omni-Triforcer I don't know. If my prediction is right and Max does end up being established as an inventor in the reboot, I don't know how that's going to impact the show exactly. I just find that to be the more likely approach that they're going to take with him.
-
I just think that they are going to reveal nothing about Max's past.
-
I loved these episodes.
- I thought Vilgax's new powers (arms splitting into tentacles) were pretty cool and fitting.
- The sequence of Ben changing aliens in the fight against Vilgax was awesome too, and I'm really glad it was only a temporary thing, so Ben won't be overpower and invincible.
- Tetrax, Kraab, Six-six and Phil were nice additions. But, like everybody else, I was also disappointed that they didn't clearly show Max as a Plumber, but I still have hope.
- The bonding moments between Ben and Gwen were great and touching (like, when Gwen jumped into the vulcano, or when Ben removed her of the action because he didn't want her getting hurt, or Gwen crying when she thought Ben was dead), and that's my main reason to like the reboot, I feel it's the first time ever since the OS ended that we can finally see the bond between Ben and Gwen taking center stage again instead of playing second fiddle to other relationships on the show.
- Dr. Animo's Eleph-Ant was pretty menacing too and played in a serious way, I liked to see that.
- "Vil and Gax" was a clever idea in my opinion (athough we actually saw very little of Vil, it could have been done better). It reminded me a little of Old-Eon and Ben-Eon from Race Against Time, and Ghostfreak from OS.
I really hope season 2 gives us more episodes like "Omni-Tricked".

@cooljay7 There's that as well.
@csgt Same here. I hope season 2 does have better quality as well. I doubt that's going to happen though but I hope.
Well we can always hope. At least we know now that the reboot is capable of some good episodes
-
@Omni-Triforcer Every show is capable of having some good episodes.
