When will gwen get her power?
-
So i was thinking about the direction they might take the characters and one thing hit me, when will gwen get her powers? So i want to know your guys thoughts on when and how she will get her magic.
-
@Omni-Triforcer Most likely in the same or similar way that she got her magic powers in the Original Series. You're really asking this question? I can already predict most of what's going to happen in the reboot.

Was just curious what you guys think

@Omni-Triforcer That's fine. It's just that what do you think that other people would think? Gwen's powers are magic based so how can Gwen get them in the reboot? The same or similar way that she got them in the Original Series when she comes across someone and/or an object that is magic based. Therefore, it's most likely that she will acquire spell casting through her encounters with Hex and/or Charmcaster (or if they decide to bring in a new character that is magic based) while also coming across some magic based charms and other objects that grant her special abilities as well. There's not much else, if not nothing else, that can be done that's different from the Original Series and what I described. I'm just saying that it's so straightforward that there really is no need to ask that question. That there's really no need to make this discussion page about it because of that very reason. We all already know the answer to it and at least most people would just pretty much end up giving you the same or similar answer that I gave. You could have thought up that answer yourself as well. For me, if the answer to a question is so straightforward and predictable, then there's no need to make a discussion about it at all. Just saying.

I was leaning toward if you guys think she would get it earlier then before since we already know that its going to happen should it be pushed off till later seasons or is it something we could see in the first season
-
@Omni-Triforcer Well ok then. That deserves a little bit of a discussion. In that case, I'm thinking she'll get her magic earlier than the Original Series. Either that or somewhere around the same time as the Original Series. I'm also having this feeling that they're going to go a pretty cheap and poorly paced and rushed route of just giving Gwen her magic somewhere in season 1.
-
@Omni-Triforcer I kinda hope someone will teach her how to use her abilities instead of on her own. Maybe have a new character teach her or bring back Verdona.
-
I feel her figuring it out on her own shows how smart her character is so id rather it stay like that.
-
@Omni-Triforcer But it feels too Mary Stue-ish, because no one can figure it out that fast, at least make it interesting in my opinion. She can still be smart, but still have trouble learning things she's not use to.

@Rexfan1333 The thing about Gwen is that she's not a Mary Sue. She's a Child Prodigy because of how intelligent and quick learning she is. Gwen is able to pick things up quite quickly. More so than any other child. Gwen doesn't play video games and yet she manages to pick up on playing games just enough to be better than Ben in just a few minutes. In the episode "Gwen 10," Gwen "Child Prodigy" trope kicks in where she's able to work the Omnitrix better than Ben was able to in just a few minutes compared to Ben having the Omnitrix for at least a month. This shows once again when Gwen starts picking up magic. Because Gwen is so intelligent, focused, and determined, she's able to quickly learn on how to cast some magic by the end of the Original Series and she does struggle to learn magic during that time as well. Gwen is just a really quick learner. @Omni-Triforcer is right. It would be much better for Gwen to learn magic on her own because it shows one of her greatest strengths as a character. It's what helps further define and improve Gwen as a character.

@Tactical-Ochoa I'm saying that this is a reboot, so it will be a lot different here, I'm not saying she's a Mary Sue, but I'm saying that it would give her something more to her character and herself to learn magic by someone more powerful than her (better stories and something different), like a Bazel who I think can teach her. Like Ben learning how to fight without the Omnitrix with Tetrax. But that's just what I want to see honestly.

I kinda want to have realize her alien heritage early if they add it in the reboot, but stilled well paced or maybe have her stay human who has an ancestor in Ledgerdomain or something. I find that a lot more interesting than the alien thing.

@Rexfan1333 To me, it adds more to her character when she manages to learn new things on her own. Again, it shows how intelligent, focused, and determined she truly is. It's quite an impressive achievement to make and really shows her true colors. That's just me though.
Considering that Joe Kelly stated on his AMA on Reddit months back saying that he prefers Gwen to be a human sorceress over Gwen being half Anodite, it's most likely (and hopefully) that she's going to be fully human.
